Provides amazing quality to both A-T's design but also the amazing sound clarity these provide
However, I will say the overall clarity of these are so great that you want to make sure the music you are listening to is pristine and high quality (at least 16 bit) because their accuracy has a way of really making bad recordings sound bad- not the headphone's fault
The MSR7 has better clarity, better soundstage, more present mid range and treble
The clarity is amazing and due to their accuracy these sound like a mature pair of headphones at this low price.
These headphones do have good clarity but the bass response, sound is lacking
, not smooth and relaxed (a la certain Sennheiser models).Overall, these are a solid set of sealed headphones that can be used at home or with portable devices.
I carefully worked my way through the quality packing and lifted the last layer of soft material and there nestled in a formed fitted holder was a beautiful set of headphones.
They only have one setting and its noticeable inferior to any of the 3 settings in ANC9

I have a pair of M50x's as well as with several other pairs of headphones, but these are by far my favorite set now
You can also find headphones for this price with a better build, but they offer the sound of $25-30 headphones.
Very good build quality, a little better than average comfort, great sound
Too bad about the poor fit and compromised build quality.

Many have been tried and rejected, more often than not because of poor build quality (creaking and microphonics drive me nuts, especially in expensive cans made with luxury materials, such as the B&W P7!) or unbalanced sound

I can tell that these are very much meant for the casual listener, as they did not benefit from an amp from what I could tell
The aluminum adjustment arms of the headband move around to an alarming degree inside the receivers inside the pleather padding of the headband–poor design/engineering that makes them feel cheap
What people have been saying about the earpieces being shallow and too warm, and the headband being uncomfortable have not proven to be the case for me
The clamping force is more than I want and the narrow headband would give me a headache
If you like warmth or want really strong bass, you would do well to look elsewhere.
but now the bass is louder and the treble has been quelled down to the point that the headphones sound more like a standard V-shape with good separation and detail, from being the forward sounding headphones of the older model
but if you like acoustic or classical, these do create more bass than you want
So many people have criticized these for under emphasizing the bass.
If you like deep powerful bass these headphones may not be the ones for you.
It’s also great for listening to audio books as I work outdoors.
My husband has a B&O pair made like these that swivel and they’ve lasted for some time
The ear cups do an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise, as well
it is a nice soft felt lined pleather, but I can’t forgive the lack of closing clasp- Word of caution - must have reasonable expectations – these are not noise isolating (nor marketed as such) so do not really sufficiently reduce the sounds of talking and will respond differently to varying ambient noise, I have had headphones that do a better job of making me feel like I am in a sound booth than these
On an airplane, they do a good job at blocking out ambient noise even when the content being listened to isn't too loud
Also, I used these headphones in an environment with lots of fan noise in the background, and the fans drowned out most of the MSR7's low end

I own a pair of Fidelio X2s, but I needed a pair of closed cans to block out fan noise in the dorm
They suppress the fan noise mostly in the middle ranges, leaving a higher frequency hiss
the next step up was their ESP "phones"Koss ESP-950 Electrostatic Stereophone but at about a grand each and the lack of portability, for those reasons they weren't even a consideration
Solid construction, pleasing to look at, a commendable microphone, and superb background noise cancellation

I tried his out for a few hours and they truly put my H/K headphones to shame.

This is a bonus for me because if someone calls out my name in the office I can hear, while still having the audio cover any background noise or general chatter

The Marshall Monitors and Denon AH-D600 have similar sound signatures, but with its filter in place, the Marshall headphones lack shimmer and with the filter out, it's sibilance run amok with all but the dullest recordings
Second is these really do make great recordings sound great, but harsh poor recordings are a bit of a pain
The flat response can sometimes come across to me as shrill, but that's usually just on poorer recordings
