Aulos A507B Sopranino 3-Piece Recorder - 2024 report by Whydis
Aulos A507B Sopranino 3-Piece Recorder
Classroom Recorder. Aulos recorders are a great value instrument; with excellent intonation and ease of playing in all registers, these recorders are excellent for students in the classroom or ensemble setting. Beautiful wood grain finish, available ...
The sound is also very good, it compares well to the Susato tin whistles that I have, though it of course has the benefit of all recorders of being chromatic versus the diatonic tin whistles
The recipient was intrigued with the portability of the little pipe which has a surprisingly sweet melodic sound.
The Aolus sopranino is well made and has a beautiful sound.
This Aulos A507B on the other hand is very well put together, has a rich sound, is very responsive, and the highest notes sing out clearly and easily
I have an Angel Alto recorder whose sound is just fantastic, no other brand has matched it yet
Attention to aesthetic design as well as excellent tone and intonation set this resin instrument apart from similarly-priced models of other brands
While a resin recorder will never replicate the warm, mellow tone of a wooden, handmade instrument, the savings (often several thousand $'s), and the ease of playing/maintenance will handily make-up for the deficit
I already have a set of wooden ones but this one is really good and has a nice tone
I'm quite happy with this little one's tone quality and ease of playing
For a plastic instrument, the tone is quite pleasant (if necessarily shrill--it is a sopranino after all), and it doesn't clog often or easily (like my plastic Yamaha alto does)
our Shih Tzu puppy does not like the recorder or could it be just the way I play it?
Good quality recorder for the beginner or more advanced player.
Delightful, the best recorder in my humble collection, of all the different brands and types I have (which include the Yamaha 300 series) and it is also the most in tune (the only F instrument that allows me to cleanly play a high F#!
Nice recorder, just keep in mind it is a smaller size than is typically used in general school.
This recorder has a very good tone devoid of shrillness, and excellent tuning, response and evenness throughout the range.
Note that players with large hands/fat fingers may find this tiny instrument hard to finger properly; its total length is only 10 inches or so.
This is one of the least expensive musical instruments I've ever bought, but its quality is far higher than its price would indicate
I am extremely pleased with the playability and tone quality, given that any Sopranino is a high pitched, comparatively shrill instrument.
Cleaning the recorder is also easier with 3 small pieces than with 2.All in all, I find the Aulos to be the superior instrument and highly recommend it.
It is often said that Yamaha is a better instrument for modern music, while the Aulos excels in the Classical realm

Beautiful wood grain finish, available in a variety of pitch orientations.
