Good remote start with decent features for the price point, But service and tech help is non existant at the manufacturer
so I really didn't need an autostart with all the fancy features
This is a great alarm system, with good features and add-ons like remote trunk release that can be purchased separately
I really like all of the features included in this system (shock sensor, hood pin alarm trigger, 2-way lcd remote, programable features, + and - door trigger wires, "pitstop" mode allows car to remain running for preset time without key for quick stops in a store
so I really didn't need an autostart with all the fancy features
Easy install, plugs right into the Xpress Kit Immobilizer Bypass (PKALL)via the D2D port
Besides being a steal of a price for a DEI unit, the install wasn't terrible either
Buyer beware, this can be a complex install depending on your vehicle.
The setup is quite simple, an easy install for someone who knows what they are doing
Overall install was not too bad, however I went basic and only required the remote start, not the door lock / unlock and this vehicle does not have an alarm or key chip that can cause some issues / complexity to the install
Initially I placed the receiver antenna under the dash, but the range was very limited (100 ft max); it greatly improved to several hundred feet once I placed it on the windshield by the rearview mirror
Great range (will work from across a parking lot easily).
Purchased this unit with a pair of 524N actuators, works great, easy installation and good range
Remotes feel sturdy and are not bulky; they have pretty good range too
The range on the remote isn't bad and the alarm has been working well for over 4 months
......instructions are worthless all they do is show a little wire diagram and that's
However, the instructions for this unit that is supposed to be for professional installation is very good, at least in my opinion.
Very happy customer, had a friend install as the instructions were a bit confusing to me
Lousy instructions for the DIY.Did not need all the features.
This unit does come with very good installation instructions, at least the unit I received last week, not sure why others did not think the unit came with good instructions.
It's nice to be able to select between arming/disarming chirps and silent arming/disarming
adjustable remote start run time, 24 hour daily remote start setting, Valet mode, Silent arming/disarming, etc
You might want to get a set like this Neiko 175 Pieces Solderless Wire Terminal & Connection with Wire Stripper Crimper Tool to help you connect wires, as well as
The range seems good and everything works as it should.

UPDATE 12/16/14: After two years, this system malfunctioned and drained the battery on my friends 2012 Ford Fusion.
.. battery drains quick but alarm works remote start works and i added the window module to it
Had some trouble with at first not working properly, automatic unlock and lock didn't work properly and the battery was being drained quickly
Only 3 Stars because it drains the battery when you dont drie the car every day.
and they tell u things that are lies and u can't get info from people anywhere about it not helpful people head games get better ones
great alarm have had it for a while same people that make viper
I am doing this myself because I'm one of the crazy people that think it's fun to mess with cars, but in all honesty you can find this part at national electronics stores for a fair price with install included.
Glad there are still some good people in the world!.
With all the unfortunate people getting their cars ripped off when warming them up, I thought this would be a great deterrent
You are reading snippets from reviews of Avital 3100LX 3-Channel Keyless Entry Car Alarm with Remotes and Failsafe Starter Kill-Set
HINT: R/S testing, Alarm doesnt have to armed nor doors closed but hood has to be closed if hood pin switch wire is hooked up AND neutral input
When you open it you'll find a mess of wires, toggle switch, kill switch, remotes, harnesses and so on
For the knock-out plug, I used a needle to punch a hole for the 2 wires then use super glue to seal it. , one for the hood switch, this switch is important because you do not want the engine started when you are working in that area
Box includes:-"Brain" box, including internal shock sensor, park light flasher, dome light supervision, starter interrupt-Two-way LCD remote, which can control two different cars that have the same Avital alarm system installed.-4 button one-way remote, which does all the one-way stuff the two-way does (arm, disarm, panic, trunk pop, etc.)-wiring harnesses, including extra wiring for "odd" power door locks and the starter interrupt.-LED alarm warning light and valet switch-sirenThe brain box is easily set up to control nearly any style of power door locks, stock or aftermarket
I did have to fabricate a safety switch for the stick shift, which will cancel the operation if moved out from the neutral resting position and to all gears
