B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H6 (Natural)

    • I have to say the bass on H6 is just enough
    • Oh, my word, was the bass clean and loud.
    • Crisp bass and mid-range.
    • There are cases when the strong bass wipes out some important mid or high notes or voice
    • The sound quality is amazing, and the bass is really quite good, I think, despite the supposed shortcoming in bass that others have mentioned
    • The bass is similar (maybe slightly weaker) to AKG K702 in my experience, a little stronger than my Etymotic ER4
    • Their tonality is known to be a little on the thin and bright side with a lean bass, and owning the Denon D5000s and Sony MDR-Z7s for years and preferring a warmer sound
    • They're not boomy in the mid-bass ranges like the P7s, or Beats
    • Turns out, while the mids and highs were superlative, the mid-bass could be excessive while the low bass (< 100 Hz) was no more prominent than the 225's
    • It had sufficient bass for most songs and in fact, I prefer the V1 to V2
    • but I thought it was more "normal" while other headphones like Beats have unnatural bass
    • If you are looking for power and a strong bass these are probably not the best headphones for you
    • With a deficient bass, there was a largeness to the sound but no fullness
    • The V2s had a little too much bass, overshadows some details
    • Turns out, while the mids and highs were superlative, the mid-bass could be excessive while the low bass (< 100 Hz) was no more prominent than the 225's
    • On the other hand, if you are looking for supreme comfort, amazing soundstage and accurate, precise sound at the expense of some bass feel and warmth, then get the H6.
    • The bass is similar (maybe slightly weaker) to AKG K702 in my experience, a little stronger than my Etymotic ER4
    • But to be honest, I still would call this lean-ish bass H6's Achilles heel, because I find these portable headphones not very well suited for portable use, well at least not for outdoors, because you need some stronger mid-bass to compensate for the outside noises, without this the sound gets too bright and trebly, with very little body
    • With the perfect fit and design, I can live with the slightly weak bass.
    • I've listened to things like Future Sound of London and Aphex Twin, which have some strong bass elements, and these headphones performed superlatively
    • For a headphone that advertises its precision, the bass is about as precise as it gets.
    • Weak bass
    • Its got the right bass too, and brings out what I would call, the true quality of the song
    • I never found the bass to sound muddled or lumpy, and it also never gets to a point where it interferes with the reproduction of the mid or treble.
    • Bass is not booming.
    • I am more interested in neutral sound as it and never touch bass/treble controls, for example, so perhaps another person might feel the bass is too weak
    • Bass is smooth and tight, mids are best described as 'light' - they kind of float in the mix - difficult to explain but the sound is very nice
    • The perfect BASS requires YOU.
    • So in simple words, these headphones can be summed up as very deep tight bass, but lacking a bit of punch for popular music
    • The H6 has no trouble handling EDM or any other heavy, complex bass.
    • The sound is accurate(yes accurate and little bass), the cover is very soft
    • Sonically flat (neutral), excellent range and the bass is more thank adequate.
    • The B&O simply sounds flat, with a thinner overall presence, lighter soundstage and a shallow bass extention
    • Glorious low bass, but they lack the sparkle and detail of the Grados
    • Coming from a bass heavy headphone like the D7000, I thought I would hate these at first, but there is so much going right with other aspects of the sound that I'm continually compelled to keep listening
    • And this is surprising for a pair of fashionable B&O headphones
    • The B&O H6 offer comfort and clear sound, for its non-discounted price
    • In some cases it would reproduce trebles better than the H6 could, but again it is lacking in its soundstage and is not as precise as the B&O offering.
    • I will say unequivocally, the B&O H6 is well worth the money, with a quality build, and extremely comfortable fit (I can go 6-8 hours now), super lightweight, and most of all, sonically pleasing
    • But the B&W P7 was the least comfortable of all the headphones I tried on
    • However, the build quality and aesthetics of these B&O headphones are unmatched, as the Sennheiser is plasticky and ugly cream.
