I have only used this device to read and clear fault codes.

If you want to read check engine light codes and clear codes then this is a good option

it does clear codes and is great for engine diagnostics

The easy fix is to just acknowledge and then erase the codes.

I also have a 2016 Nissan Titan XD diesel but it sets the check engine light for network error and will not clear the code, I have to use another product to clear the codes

I killed my battery but luckily it charged right back up

Other than that it works great and doesn't drain my battery

I believe the internal battery is dead which is inaccessible.

P.S just dont leave it on for days as I jave read online that it will drain your battery if you do not drive your car everyday.

But this scan tool definitely saves you a trip to the mechanic and lets you see if its and issue you can just reset (i.e. loose gas cap) or something major.

I opened and re-closed the cap, cleared the codes and restarted the car

could be anything from the gas cap to the charcoal canister to a ruptured hose or a split hose or a slow leak... so basically it could be anything on the car that has to do with the emission system
