It has a great range of sound and a battery that lasts twice as long despite being half the size of our wireless Bose
The tap to pause and play feature doesn't work as well as it could
Enough volume and frequency range to satisfy for a little while while your in a place where it's socially acceptable to use a speaker as opposed to headphones
The sound range is good up and down the scale, and the speaker is powerful enough to fill a room, without taking-up lots of room.
The range was good, notably the high end over the bass, but that’s expected, I think
All in all, Minirig Mini is a better quality and less expensive mini size portable speaker.
So, to recap, excellent sound, fantastic size, but marred by the choice of USB-C interface for charging.
All in all, Minirig Mini is a better quality and less expensive mini size portable speaker.
Also, like the A1, it is meant to be on the go, with a tough aluminum casing and a size that would make it easy to fit in a jacket pocket or a pouch on a backpack
The speaker has a great sound and size is perfect for traveling
As far as sound quality, like most other mini speakers, this has exaggerated bass and highs, with less definition in the mid range.
The sound quality on this thing is very good, especially for bluetooth and something this size.
However, the Sony XB10 Portable Wireless Speaker with Bluetooth, Red (2017 model) is a more user friendly and cheaper bluetooth speaker for much lower price with inferior sound quality compared to the more expensive Bang & Olufsen P2 speaker.
All in all, an excellent quality speaker with the best sound quality I've heard.
The tap to pause and play feature doesn't work as well as it could
Sony Wins! The B&O Play is a very elegant black design with only one button on the back of the speaker for on/off
1 star off for not so great battery life, no universal micro/mini USB charger, clumsy power button design (hard to press and have to hold), useless feature of shake/tap to play/skip/pause and price
And I really just love the feel, and overall design of the speaker.
The design of the components has landed them in many museums as examples of the finest industrial design
I own quite a bit of B&O and beoplay products:2 Pairs of H6, H3, 2 A1s, a beolit17 and beolit12, A3, Beoplay s8, 2 Beosound8s, Beosound 3 and Beosound1.***This hardware gives me the same horrors I experienced with the defective beosound3 keypad design
The instructions are online, buried at the B&O website – annoying!-Charge does seem to last a “long”
The volume level is the most perplexing issue - guess B&O quality control continues to lag (obviously the company has no idea about or interest in Six Sigma). In an attempt to “fix” the problem I have uninstalled and reinstalled the B&O app, deleted and reestablished the Bluetooth connection, but neither seemed to make a difference.
First mistake: a minimalist product ALWAYS requires a maximalist user's guide if one is to figure out the device's array of non-intuitive features
After reading other reviews I am also wondering if I might have been sold a defective and previously returned product - while the speaker and wire were wrapped (not sealed) the box itself was not shrink wrapped
This is the most powerful of all current B&O portable speakers.
Unfortunately I was unable to find a different manufacturer of speakers with a c type microusb plug, and a flimsy b type plug is normally the first thing to break on a speaker rendering it useless.
Ignore the reviewers that mention it only being able to fill a tiny room or not enough bass
As far as sound quality, like most other mini speakers, this has exaggerated bass and highs, with less definition in the mid range.
but you will hear clean tight bass, mids and clean bright highs
The volume level is the most perplexing issue - guess B&O quality control continues to lag (obviously the company has no idea about or interest in Six Sigma). In an attempt to “fix” the problem I have uninstalled and reinstalled the B&O app, deleted and reestablished the Bluetooth connection, but neither seemed to make a difference.
The app worked fine on my S8 and the speaker worked well without any firmware update.
The lack of manual or written instructions is made up for by the (surprisingly) intuitive app showing a quick tutorial involving no buttons on the speaker at all.
The app offers other options for the tap and shake functions – Alarm, Tonetouch (Sound Presets), Last Played Song (Remembers last song), Voice (Invokes Siri) or None
Pros:-Crystal Clear Midrange-Decent Bass-Quality look and feelCons:-Frustrating app and interface-Long charge time/Can't fully use while charging.-Connection issues with bluetooth
So far no problems with the device freezing although the app is still buggy
The tap to pause and play feature doesn't work as well as it could
The touch-shake sensor pauses playback at high volumes, so I had to disable it.
The shake to go to the next song is a bit gimmicky, but tapping to pause is very useful
, phone answer/hang up, for music there a shake that changes to the next song, etc
