My favorite feature is the ability to monitor two channels at the same time without being in a scan mode.

I wish Baofeng would open source the firmware so people like me could modify the user interface with cool features like customizable scanning profiles

I am a licensed ham, and this tiny little radio packs a large number of useful features you see in radios 2 to 3 times as much in cost.

but I do recommend an extended antenna from Nagoya to make better use of the three power settings that is another great feature of the radio.
