Radio works great, cannot wait to setup a local GMRS repeater with two.
That said walking outside or hiking in woods, radio works fine.
I will program the memory channels soon and see how the radio works.
works as it should and no issues, love the flashlight and built in radio, good audio as well.

It is well made, packaged well, very durable and shipped quickly
Great shipping response,Even better deal ya can't go wrong
Waiting for programming cable from another vendor (mistake on my part, it was several dollars cheaper, but shipping from China) so I have not had much of a chance to use it yet.

This Baofeng and similar models were not compatible with an existing radio system and repeater despite what the specifications say
Could not get the Baofeng programming software to work with the unit however
I purchased this radio to replace a Baofeng BF-F8HP which failed in less than 1 year
My first such radio, which I still have, is a Yaesu VX6, which is a more durable radio if you go out in the rain or back country, but for around the city, the VX6 is no more useful in than the much cheaper Baofeng UV5, at least for the simple repeater or simplex

Great little radio for the price, although this first thing I would do when you get the radio is get a better antenna.
The short standard stubby antenna works well with local repeater use
What I found is the NA771 is a good antenna, but no better than the Expert Power in fact the EP antenna was a little better at picking up NOAA whether stations, but it was also only $10, so I would go with the Expert Power if you are looking for a good cheap antenna for this radio
Do recommend getting a better antenna but those are cheap.

The cause is up to you to decide, but I wouldn't let the charger scare you away, there's always a chance there's bad units out there, of course, but I thought I should bring this fact up for anyone on the fence because of it, like I was
It's not that it isn't a great unit, but it takes some figuring out how to operate.
This is a good unit for emergency communication when out and about.
Good radio charging unit went bad 2 weeks sent back to Amazon
For anyone working on the licensing process, I highly recommend this unit as a starter radio once you get your license.

Great radio , good quality , easy to program as a scanner YOU DO NOT NEED a p.c. or special cable to use as scanner or to program
The radios are not in the least water-resistant, and aftermarket products targetting the Baofeng are often of very poor quality (AA battery packs, battery eliminators, car chargers, etc)
I'm totally new to ham radio but I found this radio to be of good quality and super affordable.
top of these radios generally being of questionable quality control, this particular listing and any sellers selling this model are fake
Low price does not offset very poor quality of parts and ridiculously complicated programming steps

Recommend additional silicone case as it has saved mine from a couple low level drops that would normally have killed it
works as it should and no issues, love the flashlight and built in radio, good audio as well.
But I give neg review to this kit because poor battery/charger combination and false ads (2 connector charger vs. 3 connector charger).
I use it for general communications on 2M and 70cm as well as for activities with my local CERT organization.

The charger doesn't work and there is no way that I have found to contact the seller to see about a replacement charger without haveing to pack the whole radio up and ship it back and reorder another radio.
Radio seems fine but the charger is very cheap, got it out of the box and plugged it in, charger was broken and won't charge the battery, lights just flash red and green rapidly

Original charger did not do well with water being poured on it, but everything else it still working

It doesn't work a month after I bought it, my colleagues all have the same issue
IT's an okay product, but there is a constant static issue I get with it.
The real issue is they basically ignored requests to resolve, and have not provided any details on what, if any, options are.
, I learned that I could get started in amateur radio with equipment costing less than $100, and that CW is no longer even required!I have since been issued my technician level license, and have been enjoyed learning the new hobby with this inexpensive, yet quality radio! Many people use the terms "Cheap" and "Inexpensive" interchangeably.
As for Foscam (the seller), while there appears to be a language barrier, they have responded extremely promptly to one issue I had (on another purchase), working quickly to rectify the issue and far exceeded my expectations regarding problem resolution (I had a bad battery, they sent me an entire new radio with battery!).Finally, since I brought up batteries

The RF is a little "dirty" (i.e) spurious emissions; but does not affect the operation of the radio
The older models were often accused of spurious emissions and lack of pre/De emphasis
I give this model a 3 because it did not pass the erroneous emissions test as per ARRL lab rep at the Orlando Hamcation.
Spurious emissions just make spec.so I will continue to use it

I read online that a lot of people have these problems it seems.
A lot of people may not like these chinese radios, but I've found they are excellent for the price point and hard to beat.
Pros: lots of features, nice backlight colors, cheap, listen to FM radio music stations, small, has a flashlight, easilly switch between two frequencies you are monitoring, transmit on gmrs in case of emergency, and its cheap
I failed to do this when I decided to get the black model instead of the yellow, and I lost a lot of capability as result

You can program your radio, save an image of all the settings each time you make changes, clone the info to other radios (with same firmware), change squelch sensitivity to the static squelch menu settings
Bot sure if it's a bug or if someone is barley breaking the squelch
Ofen times one is able to break squelch but their signal is lost in the background static, which is indicative of a low power signal.
While scanning, the backlight stays on unless you program the backlight to be off for waiting, in which case you can't see the screen in the dark unless you either transmit or break the squelch with the MONI
