It feels great in the hand, the receive audio quality is solid and loud, the on-air performance is predictable and pleasant, Baofeng finally included a better antenna, and the dual-PTT option is a must-have for some of us.

Radio works very well, just as advertised and what I read in the reviews.
Much better than the -5C. Programmed with NT Systems software and cable - very easy and radio works well.
The work great just wish you would make the hp model in the commercial part 90 approved

Buy the good fdmi cable and programming software and a better antenna.
I purchased the ANLI A-100 base and TRAM 1185 mobile antenna which both work well.
UV-82C Works as advertised, I put the NA-177 antenna on it....hitting all my local
To be honest, I didn't see a significant improvement over the antenna that came with the radio; so save your money and purchase a nice base and/or mobile antenna.
I'd like to see a better antenna for the commercial portions, antenna seems to be tuned for the ham bands and not very good at 160mhz and for hams you can disable the vfo lockout with CHIRP.

Very easy to program with the correct cable and the free CHIRP software that is a free download on the web.
I highly recommend the free CHIRP software for uploading frequencies.
Programming by hand is quite awkward, (as it is for most handy-talkies), so definitely get the USB programming cable and download the free Chirp software off the Internet -- makes things much easier.
CHIRP wouldn't work with this radio so I used the Baofeng software
However, if you want to use VFO mode, you can use the "daily build" version of the free CHIRP software to enable VFO mode

Programming with Baofeng was the most stressful thing about these
The only thing that could really be improved on is the lack of an extended battery.
The only bad thing is their clam shell uses AAA batteries instead of AA, as most Incidents use AA not AAA Batteries
