Most recently, I've been using the UV-82 series and really enjoy the higher quality build of the radios
-
They are well built and have a very well written manual
-
This is a very well build
-
This seems much better built.
-
I am quiet impressed with the UV-82HP, its a solid build and performs great and even with the stock antenna it gets out well here in the mountains
-
Solid build.
-
This is a very well built and durable radio
-
I like that it is light, compact and is of solid commercial build quality
-
(The added power probably isn't hurting on that front.)Being made in China, I wouldn't be shocked if I end up with some kind of odd neck and ear cancer from it, but the cable of the included earpiece is remarkably stout and feels very well built.
-
The radio itself is well built and works well for what it is
-
Overall, a well built, tough radio that comes with a charger, earpiece, belt clip, battery and antenna
-
When it comes to software upgrades to CHIRP for this radio (you have to download the daily build to be able to program this radio - but that's considered ok as the daily build is very stable.
-
They seem really well built and should you be curious as to sound quality, reception, etc., just tune into YouTube for a plethora of real world and scientific tests
-
I already preferred the "commercial" build of the UV-82 line, and now I have all the goodies of the UV-82 along with a couple of extra watts of power for better communication (HP).For a new ham on a budget
-
Solid build, clear transmission, plenty loud.
-
They are well built and they can be customized to almost any need
-
Solid build, clear transmission, plenty loud.

Was a little dificult to program but after figuring out how it works I like it.
