I recommend this deal to any Ham looking for an inexpensive radio to operate on 144 or 440Mhz.
For the price this is a pretty good deal considering the essential programming cable and extra battery usually cost an extra ~$20 each, just don't count on the "upgraded" antenna.

That said, they work great and are easily programmed by the free program "Chirp".
The radio seems very well built the button's to program are smooth and easy to use
BTW, it is easier to program using the free CHIRP software

I purchased a better external speaker mic and the connection is tight and the sound quality is much better, so the speaker mic that came with the kit is pretty useless to me
