I got this for use outside, I personally have since switched to BATTERY MINDERS for my 12v charging needs, because they have more options AND desulfate batteries as well as to multi-stage charging

Overall this charger was an excellent purchase and if it provides the same superior service to my pickup truck that the smaller Battery Tender units provide for my motorcycle and lawn mower then I will be very pleased - and perhaps save some money in the long run on battery replacement.

We purchased a 022-0158-1 24V Charger on December 10th to replace a nearly 3-year-old unit that had given us good service.
It has a micro processor that will automatically choose the best charging rate
It has worked perfectly and does an excellent job charging and keeping a charge on this when not in use.

Much worse it has failed in a charging state that boiled off the electrolyte in 2 expensive Crown 8D Size batteries.
Really prefer the 5 amp charge over the other, lessor ones

I needed a 24 volt battery charger/maintainer, I have been using "battery tender" products for some time now, keeping my motorcycle, automobile & truck batteries maintained and in proper state of charge.
So I hooked my battery tender up while I was doing some other work on the truck, and after a couple of hours I had fresh batteries
i plug it into my battery tender an keeps all my batteries ready to go
