First off, let me say the only reasons this gets four stars instead of five are because it can get very hot while charging, and because it doesn't come with any additional means of hooking it up to a battery other than hard mounting the terminal connectors to the battery (should ship with battery terminal clips instead of that being an additional cost item).Other than those two issues, I love this unit

Works great charging my diesel truck during storage

Much worse it has failed in a charging state that boiled off the electrolyte in 2 expensive Crown 8D Size batteries.

After about 8 hours on the batteries the truck fired right up & has stayed charged perfect ever since

this charger worked good for 2 months now its over charging my new batteries and wont kick off

Indicator light tells you when the batteries are charged and it does not boil the water out of the batteries.

If you are in need of rapid charging on a bass boat for tournament fishing, you need to go with the on board systems designed for such needs..

I got this for use outside, I personally have since switched to BATTERY MINDERS for my 12v charging needs, because they have more options AND desulfate batteries as well as to multi-stage charging
