The next one up offers some extra features like a pad feature and an improved MIDAS preamp, but honestly the little UM2 sounds just fine for my needs, it is pretty on part with some more expensive ones out on the market, and I'd be hard pressed to no choose that over a little USB mixer board for the $70-100 price point of some of the others

They are continuously clipping and making crackling, hissing and delayed sounds, EVEN when there isn't even anything plugged into them and the gain is completely zero

On Windows 10, Toshiba satellite running win 10 with all the suggested audio optimizations I could research, latency with the recommended ASIO4all driver would glitch the sound out at 256 samples, and 512 samples was unbearably latent

Now the interface does have a good quality sound to it, but it is VERY quiet

I was worried that there was some gimmick about this that it was so cheap compared to the 2i4 and other comparable units, but the sound of my inputs are crisp and wonderful, there is very low latency in my entire rig now, and I have control over just about every aspect of levels and gain.

The pricing on this model can not be emphasized enough, because it is literally a third of the cost of more expensive equipment that fundamentally performs on par at its core function (transmitting good quality analog sound to digital for usage in a PC or in other devices through the analog output).I have read that on professional testing, the UMC204 performs as good as expensive equipment at the same fundamental function that cost thousands of dollars more

The U-Phoria ended all that madness because it has it's own Windows 10 driver
