People who are saying it's mono have either received a defective unit or they got the wrong TRS stereo adapter
Possible it was a defective unit, but didn't want to take a chance on another
*that*.I am here to report that the negative reviews were either made on the basis of defective units or were made by people who cannot objectively judge the quality of a signal when it comes through a cheap box with "Behringer" printed on the front
This is a good, solid unit that doesn't use much space at all!
If yours is mono, you either got the wrong cable or got a defective unit
I jerry-rigged a Lepai speaker amp and, while it got me through a few gigs, the sound was too distorted at high levels and the Lepai amp would cut off at high output.
Does exactly what it says it will, and outputs a clean sound at a good level
The sound is great and you can adjust the volume so easy
The outlet plug makes a loud high pitched sound when it's plugged in
The build quality is very good and the sound and gain are great.
If you're not a mixing professional audio this thing works just great in my experience
I am now glad to say that after getting a replacement headphones and desktop speakers that this thing works fantastic.
This thing is fantastic and does exactly what it's intended to do
The only thing I don't recommend doing is turning the volume past the 2nd notch for your good headphones because they might damage them like they did mine.
I just wanted a simple headphone amp, and this thing is garbage
Please remember 1 star only because it didn't work for my special situation
A lot of reviews are knocking stars off the review of this product because it wasn't what they thought it was, which is not the problem of the product.
I knock one star off due to the fact that there is no power switch.
This works for what we needed for, but there were two minor disappointments with this (still rating 4 stars because of high quality product):1
If Behringer would add a capacitor to the power input to filter this it would be an easy 5 stars.
Might try disassembling later to see if I can fix the static noise.
Also, the static noise ramps up past 40% input volume knob on the unit.
The only improvement I would make is possible having the I/O panel top mounted to allow full access to this unit from one direction (such as for rack mounting it).
This is a solid little object with decent noise specs at a good price
Small package...good results...no noise distortion and no hiss or humming
For the price, I'm happy with it and get no extraneous buzz even though it's on a large desk with a laptop, HD monitor, 2 external hard drives, and an xbox360.
I unplugged them from the amp and plugged them straight into the board and PRESTO, no more hum/buzz
The HA400 will pick up interference as a pretty loud buzz from the power charger on my laptop, but other than that one source of interference it puts out a clean signal
Clean sound no buzzing or interference
Once everything was done I was getting a terrible staticy hum/buzz in the headphones

BEHRINGER MICROMIX MX400 Ultra Low-Noise 4-Channel Line Mixer Ultra-compact 4-channel line mixer Highest sonic quality even at maximum output level Input Level control for each channel Power adapter included High-quality components and exceptionally rugged construction ensure long life Conceived and designed by BEHRINGER Germany Despite its ultra-compact size, this 4-channel line mixer is big on features! It yields the highest sonic quality at all output levels, boasting ultra low-noise 4580 operational amplifiers for outstanding audio performance - the same op amps found in its much bigger brethren
Expanding on the capabilities of standard-size mixers is where the MX400 does extremely well, for example as a sub-mixer
If you are running short on available channels on your "big" mixer and need to bring the output of three different keyboards into your mix, you can simply connect them to the MX400, work out the keyboard mix, and connect the MX400's output to a single input on your main mixer
It will catch your eye because it's cute as a button, but you'll want to own one because of what it can do for your performance.
