If you do not have a port available for your desktop, then you will need to buy a CTIA compatible 3.5mm Female to Male Y splittler that will split the headphone and microphone jacks to connect to a desktop's audio

The jack broke off in my iPad

The earmuffs are very uncomfortable and shortly after my return window expires the audio jack becomes unresponsive when plugged in so the microphone no longer works

With the headphones on I can hear everything almost as well as when they are off my head
