beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Over-Ear Studio Headphones in black. Open construction, wired
Color:Grey
The DT 990 PRO (250 ohms) is an open dynamic headphone that is ideal for professional use in studios. Headphone frequency response - 5 - 35.000 Hz
Pristine frequency Separation, especially in the highs, supreme sonic Clarity, large drivers, Signature BeyerDynamic Wide acoustic Stage, strong build quality, very good distortion free bass, light weight, extremely soft and comfortable to wear
Therefore they ended up breaking and they are the reason I wanted a good quality build in my next headphones
These are great open-back headphones and feature solid build quality
these are some pretty epic headphones i dont like the velour pads because they are a dirt magnet and absorb sweat but they sound very nice and have good build quality
They aren't my favorite open headphones, but they have a good build quality, they are comfortable, and the sound quality is overall enjoyable.
If you're looking for a great value open headphone, or for a very accurate look at your mixes, these are it
If the sonic signature fits your preferences, it's a pair of great value headphones.
Not that the 990s are cheap in any way other than price, or that they aren't an excellent value (probably one of the best in the world of headphones).
Pain as in the headphones squeezed with enough pressure to force one loop through my ear wrong side first, leaving some blood on the cans, my ears and the my shirt so that I was questioned in great detail later (it's
sound amazingly good, have hold just fine for over 2 years, I only replaced the pads after 2 years because the old ones where starting to get dirty, overall a good pair of headphones, and a good value if you get them as me for only $99 on sale
They definitely sound bigger when run through a decent headphone amp
May need an amp to get the appropriate volume (currently using Astro Mixamp)- non-detachable cordOpen back design is a matter of preference, your sound will leak through.

I highly recommend if this is your first pair of good headphones you should also get an amp for this to improve the overall sound quality.
They do need a decent headphone amp to really make them sing
The ear pads feel good and the tension has a firm but good squeeze
Construction is great and the ear pads are super soft and comfy, just wish it wasn't so tight
Comfort:10/10The ear pads are very nice and compress against your head the padding on top is comforatable

Clamping force is a little tight for my liking on these, but the ear pads are extremely comfy nonetheless
They present a great soundstage and crisp and clear sound
Even pristing audiophile recordings with excellent vocals begin to get that cheap pop-music sparkly feel to them due to exaggerated "s" and "sh" sounds
The soundstage and clarity of these headphones is excellent
Lighterweight, and just as comfy....BETTER soundstage, but slightly thinner sound
Build quality is great and the headphones feel solid, they certainly don`t feel like they`ll just break in my hands
The sound stage of these headphones make listening to my music even more enjoyable.

The sound stage of the open back headphones is awesome for classical music.
Build quality is great and the headphones feel solid, they certainly don`t feel like they`ll just break in my hands
They are more open, so you get a better sound stage, And the separation in better, but not a large difference
Best headphones everGreat sound quality, very good price ($145) , and build qualityI using it for music and games, Which its impressive in bothI am really happy with this purchase.
Crazy price difference, I know), I guarantee you they probably wont offer as much bang for your buck
Perfect for studio critical listening, and better priced than comparable Sennheisers
the Coiled cord sucks, but a small price to pay for this kinda sound.
Beyerdynamic really makes some crazy good and crazy priced gear.

I also tend to get what is known as "ear fatigue" depending on what I am listening to

but at the current price tag on this equipment you won`t get better sound or quality
Hate it or Love it (50 Cent - G UNIT version) - I love this song.
There are some good compromises with good noise canceling and good sound quality, but none of them has the sound quality of DT 990 or Bose's quietness.
I also had to replace the first set I received due to a weird static noise in the left ear that was constantly there
Not much noise isolation - Even when they're blasting, you can still hear what's going on around you
It's a loud mechanical popping noise, like the hinges are
A bargain, and they isolate outside noises better than i expected but they get loud enough to hear from 50 feet (no exaggeration)
Now, I've been playing music with DT-990 to try to "break them in" in hopes that maybe the harsh sibilance will smooth out, but so far, it's the same
I didn't care to analyze or pay attention to other frequencies with these headphones because of the harsh sibilance it adds to the audio / music / vocals kills it for me
Even pristing audiophile recordings with excellent vocals begin to get that cheap pop-music sparkly feel to them due to exaggerated "s" and "sh" sounds
Moreover, the 598 is known for its "laid back" presentation: the lower frequencies are recessed relative to the M50, and the higher frequencies sound "rounded out," so you don't get any booming bass or sharp (and possibly fatiguing) sibilance
Just got these headphones last night and when I took a listen with them, I heard harsh "sibilance" in the vocals of the artist
