Reviews around value (5.00 of 5)

  • Great value!I've had this for 3 months and have consistently used it everyday
  • Frequently overflows as it's easy to misplace the pot and there's no auto shut off for the pot when that happens
  • I bought this in april 2015 and it has now stopped working as of Jan 7,2016
  • The coffee tastes every bit as good as -- or better than -- the coffee I made for 20 years in my now-defunct Krups.

Reviews around plate (4.64 of 5)

  • The carafe plate will also keep your fresh brewed coffee hot.
  • Less then 2 months of use and the hot plate doesn't stay on to keep coffee warm
  • The prior one was functional but the hot plate was rusting and the rubber plug that stops coffee from flowing when you take out the carafe was split
  • We use it for our morning coffee every day and the hot plate as started to peel already.
  • So far there is no dripping which caused the warmer plate on my lasted coffee maker to get ruined

Reviews around price (4.63 of 5)

  • Would recommend this coffee maker and the price is very reasonable
  • Works well, price is right, no complaints!
  • Not worth the price
  • It does everything it needs to do for a great cheap price!
  • This is a very basic 12 cup coffee maker at a reasonable price (currently $30)

Reviews around feature (4.42 of 5)

  • Claims it has "sneak-a-cup" feature, but it doesnt
  • Simple and makes great coffee, I love the “sneak a cup” feature
  • 2-hour cut off; and sneak-a-cup feature
  • Fast brewing time, and the programmable feature makes it easy to wake up to fresh coffee.
  • The programmable feature sold me on this coffee maker, and I love it

Reviews around timer (4.38 of 5)

  • The coffee tastes great and the timer and being able to pour your coffee when you're ready is great!
  • The programmable timer did not work on any of them.
  • The only negative is that it doesn't keep the coffee as hot as I like it.
  • Simple, inexpensive, pours without dripping, keeps coffee hot, automatic timer and shut-off
  • Broke as I was cleaning it with a wash cloth.

Reviews around coffeemaker (4.14 of 5)

  • The coffeemaker died suddenly over night in one month
  • It's an inexpensive coffeemaker that does as advertised.
  • but I knew that a cheap coffeemaker was probably
  • on.would NOT recommend this coffeemaker to anyone
  • Cheap coffeemaker

Reviews around maker (4.02 of 5)

  • It is a very inexpensive coffee maker, some corners have to be cut
  • I do not like this coffee maker at all and would advise against buying one.
  • This is a fine coffee maker, better than the expensive German named maker I had before.
  • A great coffee maker it brews a great cup of coffee too we love ours!
  • Previously used a very expensive coffee maker that I wasn't impressed with

Reviews around product (3.96 of 5)

  • I will not purchase Black and Decker anymore - the products are cheap and do not last.
  • Extremely light; don't now if Black and Decker started downgrading their products or if this is not an original item
  • Excellent product, I would recommend this product to anyone, works great
  • I would not discourage this product just because of this.
  • I would have given this product 0 stars because it died 3 months after I received it

Reviews around cup (3.96 of 5)

  • A great coffee maker it brews a great cup of coffee too we love ours!
  • Makes a great cup of coffee and no leaking from the carafe when pouring
  • Other than those two things, it makes good coffee, and the sneak a cup works fairly well.
  • I love that it shuts off while I sneak a cup of coffee too.
  • it lines up which means if you sneak a cup you have to again look from underneath that it has exactly lined up.

Reviews around death (3.70 of 5)

  • Shame to throw away an otherwise fine working coffee maker that likely has a loose connection or short, I will never know because for some reason B&D uses these ridiculous screws to discourage self reliance.
  • The old machine (after many, many years of faithful service) died an ignoble death Monday morning
  • Seems to work just as dependably as the old B+D so far, and it makes a good cup of coffee.
  • The coffee tastes every bit as good as -- or better than -- the coffee I made for 20 years in my now-defunct Krups.
  • I don't know if the manufacturer changed components and got a bad batch, but this model isn't as good as the B&D model from years past

Reviews around pot (3.69 of 5)

  • The pot of coffee that I had brewed, I noticed had gotten cold even though the light showed it was still on
  • It's are great little coffee pot for the price, but it could have used a few
  • I want to love this pot because it makes a great coffee.
  • This was a great working coffee pot until it stopped working today
  • I didn't notice the convenient auto shutoff feature until after i brewed and wasted my first pot of coffee.

Reviews around brew (3.14 of 5)

  • Fast brewing time, and the programmable feature makes it easy to wake up to fresh coffee.
  • Trying to get a stronger coffee brew results in grounds in the coffee.
  • It looks good, brews quick, and makes a good cup of coffee
  • We mainly do cold-brew for our daily coffee, but wanted a occasional drip maker for extras/company/etc
  • Works very well - only complaints: Noise while brewing; lines on carafe showing number of cups are hard to read.

Reviews around plastic (2.73 of 5)

  • Maybe I’m a rough user, but I’ve owned my GM 4-cup brewer for a good 7 year’s before I had to replace it
  • The only negative is that it doesn't keep the coffee as hot as I like it.
  • The water guage on the side has dark colored plastic not the clear type which makes it hard to see the water level.
  • Great and fast--I like my coffee quick and hot when I awaken at O'Dark Thirty!
  • I can't get that cheap plastic smell or taste off this coffee maker

Reviews around basket (2.73 of 5)

  • Maybe I’m a rough user, but I’ve owned my GM 4-cup brewer for a good 7 year’s before I had to replace it
  • It works!Basket is unstable, filters are hard to find, often reshaping them by hand or scissor
  • Shame to throw away an otherwise fine working coffee maker that likely has a loose connection or short, I will never know because for some reason B&D uses these ridiculous screws to discourage self reliance.
  • This I do not fault the coffee maker, some have the drip arm securing the basket to ensure the ball connection is tight
  • However some Idiot threw the basket that holds the paper filters away or lost it

Reviews around sound (2.71 of 5)

  • Our future son-in-law had some requirement’s for a coffee-maker: programmable, clock, 12 cup, durable (not cheap looking or functioning), easy to add water and easy to clean
  • Or even 10. 8 is about the most, because if you add the appropriate amount of water and coffee grounds to the pot for 8 or more cups (per the instructions in the provided book), it overflows the brewing chamber and the coffee spills on the counter, down the side on the burner (making a sizzling hissing sound) and grinds pour into the pot from which you drink
  • Shame to throw away an otherwise fine working coffee maker that likely has a loose connection or short, I will never know because for some reason B&D uses these ridiculous screws to discourage self reliance.
  • I don't know if the manufacturer changed components and got a bad batch, but this model isn't as good as the B&D model from years past
  • I'm guessing now that the loud 'snap' sound was electrical arcing inside the unit - something you don't want happening on your kitchen counter

Reviews around way (2.54 of 5)

  • The second just died this morning the same way the last one did
  • It is essential that it face that way for the snatch and pour feature to work as well
  • I love the way the top of the coffee pot is permanently attached.
  • I have had this coffee maker a little over a month, and the defective way it is made with the basket that hold the coffee I am continually getting grounds in my coffee
  • I bought this in april 2015 and it has now stopped working as of Jan 7,2016

Reviews around thing (2.54 of 5)

  • Funny thing about this coffee maker is the "sneak a cup" feature works great
  • Great and fast--I like my coffee quick and hot when I awaken at O'Dark Thirty!
  • Only thing I do not like..and this is so for all machines
  • so that says good things about this whole coffee brewing shabang
  • This thing is a bit loud but does what you buy a drip coffee maker to do: it heats up water and drips it through beans

Reviews around coffee grind (2.40 of 5)

  • but instead of,the coffee pouring into the pot it flowed to the sides along with coffee ground
  • Great and fast--I like my coffee quick and hot when I awaken at O'Dark Thirty!
  • If you don't place it exactly properly and shut the lid just so, coffee grinds go everywhere.
  • but I have to microwave or add boiling water to the coffee ground to get what I want.
  • The only negative is that it doesn't keep the coffee as hot as I like it.

Reviews around piece (2.23 of 5)

  • Great and fast--I like my coffee quick and hot when I awaken at O'Dark Thirty!
  • The only negative is that it doesn't keep the coffee as hot as I like it.
  • Eventually I cleaned all the plastic pieces with vodka and that killed the terrible flavor of plastic
  • Coffee is not as hot as I like and is much weaker.
  • For the pathetic amount of time that it actually functioned, it was disappointing: filters that stuck in the machine when emptying it, a heating surface that shut off after a too-short period of time, and a carafe that threatened to break all the time as it was washed out due to its too-tall design as it kept clanking against the sink's surface (our Mr. Coffee, while also a terrible piece of equipment, never had that problem)

Reviews around screw (1.95 of 5)

  • Weird screws won't let you take the bottom off
  • Comes with proprietary screws on the bottom that make it impossible to take apart to fix.
  • Go to take it apart to see what the problem is and they use unreachable screws which no one on earth would have a bit for
  • Shame to throw away an otherwise fine working coffee maker that likely has a loose connection or short, I will never know because for some reason B&D uses these ridiculous screws to discourage self reliance.

Reviews around month (1.78 of 5)

  • For the previous 10 years I had a Cuisinart Grind and Brew and every so often (Once or twice a month
  • This coffee pot stopped working 7 months after purchase
  • The clock light didn't work; it totally stopped working earlier this month & I only had it not even a yr
  • This is the second black and decker coffemaker that I get this month and both of them had broken parts upon arrival
  • Simple coffee maker good for the price lasted four months

Reviews around house (1.69 of 5)

  • The plastic housing on top made it impossible to use after a few uses
  • However, I give two stars since Black and Decker realizes the same terror I realize when brewing a pot of coffee, if this thing runs for more than two hours, it may burn down the house
  • Maybe I’m a rough user, but I’ve owned my GM 4-cup brewer for a good 7 year’s before I had to replace it
  • so if you forget you aren't worried about it burning down the house, people love the coffee it
  • The only problem now is that the all-black housing makes it hard to see the water level when filling it, and we use the glass carafe to measure the water level instead.

Reviews around week (1.54 of 5)

  • Not to mention the hassle of it probably taking weeks to get to me, and it will probably fail again in under 6 months(this seems to be a common problem if you view the reviews on the Black & Decker site)Horrible
  • This past week it just quit working...period
  • If I didn't live in the country, have well water and forget to clean the tank every week, I'd probably still have the first one
  • Did not last one week and now leaks water when brewing
  • When the replacement finally arrived, it was an older model than the one originally purchased and only lasted a week before the water started to leak from the unit
