I grind my own beans, I don't need a grinder in my coffee maker
-
I tried a coffee brew and wasted some nice beans on that disaster
-
Even with "fussy" beans, this makes an absolutely acceptable cup of coffee (that's a big compliment!
-
We typically brew coffee with extremely fresh-roasted and fresh-ground beans in a Hario V60 or Chemex, but sometime the amount of coffee we need to brew dictates having a machine.
-
Tasty, too (I grind my own beans though)2
-
I had one before that ground the beans.
-
and I absolutely do love the carafe for this coffeemaker! The coffee that it makes, however, is way too bitter using the same beans and roasts that I have always loved (when buying at the supermarket: Peets or Caribou, otherwise from a local roater)

Just retired our Cuisinart, it ground whole bean, brewed and was very deluxe, but a pain
-
The Mr Coffee made very weak coffee because it ran through too quickly, even when I used robust fresh-ground beans
-
Or 12.We don't use the timer features since pre-grinding the beans and letting them sit out

I am retired now and my first every "under the counter" coffee maker was a beloved B & D.
-
I bought this brand because I had a B&D space saver coffee maker for about 15 years, that finally died.
-
The B&D works well, is easy, and looks good.

Fortunately, this coffeemaker works as well as or better than any we have previously owned (and all of those were much more expensive). We use dark-roast coffee exclusively and we both like our coffee strong
-
Also the thermos does not keep the coffee as hot as we’d like after 30 min

Works as excepted.
-
Needless to say I would recommend this coffee pot as of right now
-
Not quite as hot as I would like, so only four stars.
-
DO NOT BUY, bought in June of 2017 hardly used and now does not work as of
-
This is easy to use and adjustable as to how bold you really want your cup of Joe
-
Not having bells and whistles didn't bother me as it was reliable and made good coffee right until the end.
-
For those that like coffee extremely hot, this may not be for you, it will not be as hot as with a typical coffee maker
