In the current context, corporate greed always wins: offshore cheap labor and US tax loopholes have made it too lucrative to ignore the possibility of making easy profits by offshoring all the messy work: materials, manufacturing, packaging, even product design and testing, standards compliance, etc. etc

We had to discard that one after the pour spout valve lever failed, apparently poor design and/or materials

The materials are cheap and smell heavily of chemicals

Fortunately, this coffeemaker works as well as or better than any we have previously owned (and all of those were much more expensive).We use dark-roast coffee exclusively and we both like our coffee strong

Also the thermos does not keep the coffee as hot as we’d like after 30 min
