This item produced coffee with an intense metallic/plastic taste.

The problem seems to be the water reservoir itself having a very strong, very persistent plastic stank that just will not go away (4 days and counting)

The rest of the coffeemaker is shiny black plastic

The only thing I don't like is the plastic-like smell coming from the water reservoir.

The cheap plastic leaves every cup of coffee tasting terrible.

After a month of trying there was always a burnt plastic taste

The coffee tastes like plastic even after following manufacturers instructions for use and the only thing that isn't made from cheap plastic is the carafe (which is very nice)

Love the carafe but the base is cheap thin plastic and putting the carafe back to the base isn't as easy or smooth as it should be

I finally found that if I lift the top and let everything air dry before brewing I can't taste plastic, but its a pain to remember to do this every time I make coffee.

Every cup tastes and smells terrible, like really bad chemical plastic!I followed the manufacturer instructions for initial cleaning and prep

I ended up removing the broken plastic parts and let the rubber piece in the pour spout move on its own based on the pressure of the liquid coffee during a pour

This is easy to use and adjustable as to how bold you really want your cup of Joe

Not having bells and whistles didn't bother me as it was reliable and made good coffee right until the end.

For those that like coffee extremely hot, this may not be for you, it will not be as hot as with a typical coffee maker
