Coffee did not stay hot very long because there was no hot plate

this unit does not have a warming plate to keep coffee hot.

It would only keep the coffee hot for hours if the carafe sat on a hot plate

n’t overcook the coffee for a burnt taste but the pot leaks around the lid when you pour it

The carafe does keep the coffee hot for a long time (about 10 hours)

It does keep the coffee hot though and I refuse to pay $100 for a coffee

We liked the carafe feature and wanted that in a new coffee maker

I love the steel carafe as it will not break if you accidentally bump something.

Also, the “stop drip” feature to sneak a cup while brewing doesn’t work and keeps dripping coffee

Auto mode to have the coffee brewing when you wake up is another great feature

But the best feature is the thermal carafe, it really keeps your coffee hot for hours

I like the thermal carafe, but I don't like the bottom of the coffee maker.

Would not recommend if you like a strong cup of coffee.

That being said, I would highly recommend this coffee maker.

And, the price is right-this is one of the least expensive coffee makers of its size with a metal carafe

We've been putting hot water in the carafe to warm it before starting the coffee.

Need to heat up the carafe with some hot water to keep the coffee really hot

You literally have to waste hot water to heat up the carafe before brewing but that does not guarantee hot coffee.

The process of making coffee is a bit more cumbersome, as you must warm up the carafe prior to it holding the coffee after brewing.

Wasn't crazy about getting a "programmable" maker (as I don't use this feature EVER), but figured since it was B&D would be better than the others

The cover of the pot has a great little handle to open the pitcher to pour out the coffee

Sure enough, the handle was cracked and black plastic pieces fell out of the plastic bag

At least I can use the carafe for pour-over until I get a replacement (definitely NOT another inexpensive B&D).
