    BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/Silver, CM2035B

    • this unit does not have a warming plate to keep coffee hot.
    • I bought this coffee maker because my previous one (also a b+d, different model, with glass carafe and hot plate) developed an issue with the clock/programming
    • Every single pot there's grinds in the pot, coffee on the hot plate burning it, the filter cup always has grinds in it outside of the filter
    • This is cheap, but you're better off with a cheapo maker with a hot plate
    • The cleaning feature and the no hot plate option are the only good thing in our coffee drinking/loving opinion.
    • Love that there's no dangerous hot plate
    • Also, the coffee does not get over cooked by sitting on a hot plate
    • Metal pot holds heat without a hot plate bottom so coffee does not 'burn'.
    • Using a hot plate makes the coffee bitter over time
    • No hot plate for coffee pot to set on!!!
    • did not realize that the plate on the coffee maker does not get hot at all
    • It keeps the coffee hot for hours without becoming the dreaded gray brew from prolonged hot plate sitting
    • The thermal carafe keeps the coffee drinking temp for at least 2 hours and no warming plate so you can walk out of the house whenever you want and not worry about the coffeepot being left on
    • Thermal carafe so coffee stays hot but doesn’t burn on a warming plate.
    • Coffee did not stay hot very long because there was no hot plate
    • I had to buy a hot plate to keep the coffee warm.
    • I use thermal pots as they are more energy friendly than ones with hot plates and the taste of the coffee remains rather constant instead of scorching
    • This machine will more than pay for itself in about a year (maybe less) from the saved electricity costs of keeping a hot plate running.
    • I absolutely LOVE this coffee pot, no more coffee on a hot plate getting to strong/bitter!!!
    • This does not have a warming plate that uses energy and pumps heat into your house
    • n’t have a hot plate
    • Intuitive, easy to use, plus has a thermal carafe which is what you want—glass carafes being warmed over a hot plate will result in burned, bad tasting coffee
    • The concern about keeping the coffee hot without the warming plate on all the time is baseless
    • No hot plate that keeps the carafe warm.
    • There is no warming plate but the coffee stays hot for a few hours and warm for several more
    • But the hot plate that is designed to keep your coffee warm, does nothing for the machine at all
    • so I switched with the piece on my old B&D coffee pot, (just happened to be the same parts because it the same but has warming plate and glass pot) and luckily it fixed it or I would have had to send it back.
    • I like that the carafe is not sitting on a hot plate that continues to "cook" the coffee after it is brewed.
    • I like the old style better that had a silver hot plate for the carafe to sit on because it helped keep the coffee hot for a longer period of time.
    • The coffee pot is what keeps the coffee warm not the burner/plate because there isnt a burner/hot plate its just a plate so the coffee pot itself keeps the coffee hot after it i done making
    • Plus it keeps the coffee hot for a long time without a hot plate.
    • Why does anyone use a glass coffee maker with a hot plate

    • I do find the coffee tastes better since it’s not “cooking” on a hot plate
    • My coffee stays hot for HOURS after brewing and bc there isn’t a hot plate, it doesn’t burn
    • This B&D model doesn’t get corrosion because it doesn’t have a hot plate - but coffee stays hot in carafe plenty long enough without one
    • I love that it doesnt have a 'hot plate' undet the pot as the last 2 brewers I had to trash was because the warming plate died
    • Nice not having coffee needing to stay on a hot plate and cook up.
    • No burnt coffee from the hot plate staying on.
    • I was surprised to see it didn't have a hot plate.

    • So much better than a machine with a hot plate to burn the heck out of the coffee.
    • Great product if you drink coffee and don’t like the last cup to be scorched from sitting in the pot too long on the traditional hot plate.
    • Keeps heat well but not the same as hot plate -
    • Doesn't have a warming plate but the insulated carafe keeps the coffee warm for a few hours
    • This doesn't have a warming plate
    • Keeps coffee really hot for a very long time and no hot plate elements
    • My husband does not like a carafe that sits on a hot plate because he says the coffee is bitter
    • We ordered this particular product because of its ability to brew the coffee and hold it in a carafe to keep it "hot" without continuing the cooking process as your standard coffee maker does sitting on a warming plate
    • Makes a good cup of coffee, and keeps it warm for several hours without the burning it like a hot plate based coffee maker does.
    • No hot plate and coffee needs to be microwaved after brewing.
    • No hot plate to burn the pot
    • This product was poorly described and no mention of not having hot plate to keep coffee warm and needing to preheat thermos with hot water prior to making coffee
    • I just wish it had a hot plate to keep the coffee warmer longer.
    • It keeps the coffee warm by using an insulated pot instead of a hot plate
    • It would only keep the coffee hot for hours if the carafe sat on a hot plate
    • This keeps the coffee nice and hot for a long period of time without sitting on a warming plate that can burn or sour the coffee.

    • The inside of the pot is glass or some tin foil thing used to communicate with Albert and his $16 theory of hot plate = hot joe
    • Keeps the coffee Very hot Without hot plate
    • The second problem is to keep the carafe warm, as there is no warming plate, you have to fill and dump an entire carafe of hot water out every day to warm it up.
    • It keeps warm for 2-3 hours which is great and doesn’t scorch your coffee because there is now warming plate
    • Only thing I don’t like about this is that since the coffee pot is insulated, there is no hot plate to keep the coffee warm if you do
    • No warming plate.
    • So there isn't a hot plate, the carafe was supposed to be sufficient
    • I like the pot but think l got a lemon.
    • I love the steel carafe as it will not break if you accidentally bump something.
    • Coffee flavor was not as good as with my old pot, but more coffee helps
    • Terrible leaking from the carafe evry time you pour as well as from the maker itself whenever you remove the pot
    • n’t overcook the coffee for a burnt taste but the pot leaks around the lid when you pour it
    • n’t say enough how much I love it
