Alas, cheap also means no convection fan (missing in many older larger ones as well).THIS IS NOT A CONVECTION OVEN.The common setting missing on this oven is for bagels - with the top element at full power and the bottom at half (to only soften the rounded part)
Good toaster & very nice small convection oven
This compact convection oven is handy to have on a boat or RV
So, I think the convection is better, but imperfect
You are reading snippets from reviews of BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster Oven with Natural Convection, Black, TO1750SB
My daughter had a Black and Decker for years very similar to this and the only reason she got rid of it was because she did not do a good job cleaning it (gross
This toster does a good job of tosting and warming up pizza performs better than the one it replaced
Heck, there's not a full sized oven that does a good job heating
It does a good job of cooking fozen tator tots and fries, pretty much any frozen breaded concoction cooks weil in this oven
Nice basic toaster oven, it works well and does a good job toasting and heating up things that you normally wouldn't want to heat the oven up for
This is 1) missing a functional tray; flimsy tray is useless, 2) has an inferior non integral crumb tray, and 3) curiously does not have the little arms on the door that pull out the rack a short way when the door is opened
i have always preferred toaster ovens, and this one is nice quality and has a large enough capacity (4 slices of toast), and i like that it has a removable tray on the bottom for easy cleaning.
It heats up well, the removable tray inside that catches the crumbs is amazing, and easy to clean
Many recommend using a cheap toaster oven liner to protect crumb tray
Clean up is easy and the removable crumb tray is great, but you still need to on occasion unplug the toaster and shake it upside down into the sink to remove those crumbs that work their way under the tray
The main issue with my old toaster oven was dramatically uneven heating such that I'd have to watch anything I put in it like a hawk and rotate it and flip it frequently to stop it from burning on one side/edge while not toasting on the other
Heck, there's not a full sized oven that does a good job heating
If you appreciate a simple appliance, then I think you'll like this one as much as we do
It does not take up much space on the counter, heats quickly, and generally works well
It doesn't take up a lot of room, it's simple to use and clean as long as you don't let it cook with leftover crud on it
Have not used the oven feature, but, the toaster part is not very good, either under cooks or burns toast or buns
Doesn't take up a lot of space and wont burn the toast!
Door won't even shut all the way... leaves a significant gap... and it is super dinky inside... would most likely burn toast...
Worked fine for about a month then the lower burners stopped getting red hot like the top ones when toasting
It makes great toast with heating elements on both the bottom and top of the oven, so you can put in bread buttered on one side and toast both sides at once on the rack
My complaints with the oven, are the small size, and the knobs are difficult to see which direction they are pointing
I don’t like the knobs
It seems to cook things well, but I have two gripes: the temperature is off by ~25 F, and the knobs are bilaterally symmetric, so it's all too easy to set the dials 180° from where one means to.
