BLACK+DECKER Belgian Waffle Maker, Stainless Steel, WMB500

    • Looks like the head just shatters the plastic
    • This waffle maker makes great waffles, easy to clean and heats well, until, as all the other reviewers have noted, the cheap plastic hinges make it fall apart after a few uses.
    • I examined them, and they were cheaply made, flimsy black plastic!
    • Hinges held together with a cheap plastic plug
    • I was in shock because the box doesn’t have a single ding or dent, and it was fully wrapped and smelled all “plastic-y” new.
    • It was advertised as stainless steel but the flying part that actually makes waffles is cheap plastic
    • Very cheap plastic caps (not thru bolted) that will simply break off if the two major parts are torqued a bit too much in the real world.
    • Looks like the head just shatters the plastic
    • I was able to find one and glue that together (cheap plastic
    • The cheap plastic snap-in hinge bolts broke only after 3 uses
    • The hinge pins that keep the hinge together are constructed from cheap, brittle plastic.
    • The hinge is a hollow piece of split plastic that is very cheaply made.
    • The cord doesn't lead out the back of the unit, it leads out the front - as if it were installed backward.
    • We used closer to 3/4 cup of batter not 2/3 as recommended and even then some waffles were slightly undersized which resulted as a not as crisp product
    • It has a convenient light that that turns off when it is done pre heating as well as when your waffle is actually done
    • Now I have enough to last awhile as they break.
    • n’t recommend filling the iron completely with batter
    • , there is no protection on the outside of the waffle maker to prevent you from burning the s**t out of your hand, it's just as hot on the outside as it is on the inside
    • No matter how much I oil the pan it still stuck and made a messy mess
