I more prefer the XLR microphones, they're more mobile and suppress background noise much better.
-
For any blue microphone and some others this is perfect, but for some super powerful microphones they will just blow it out and you would be better out paying 150$ for a preamp of focuserite
-
I used this on my Mac for various things, and noticed that when I had to do conference calls and stuff, and I used this, my voice was so clear and modulated and crisp and so forth, when I paired this with the Shure SM58, that classic microphone.

Does the job, if you want to use a proper XLR microphone instead of some weaksauce overhyped Yeti, this will get the job done well and stores nicely at a good size
-
No buzzing noises or anything picked up really...just nice crispy sound recorded through a good quality microphone is all I hear
-
It works great for me, I have a blue Bluebird microphone hooked up to it, and it does not make my expensive microphone sound crappy.
-
i try my microphone without blue icicle, and it's not bad
-
I handle the device the same way I would handle an expensive microphone
-
I have a home studio and an investment in good microphones.
-
I do a lot of home recording of my vocals, and I didn't want to spend a fortune on a good USB Microphone, I instead wanted to use my microphone that I have always used to record which is a Sennheiser e935, and this ICICLE allowed me to do so.

The microphone works fine and did not break or deteriorate in sound quality as a result of the Blue Icicle but the Blue Icicle itself was has become progressively worse in sound quality for whatever reason

I have good XLR microphones that cost more than many USB mic kits
-
Introduces noise and makes the microphone sound overly harsh
-
Great way to convert old SONY XLR microphone into a USB-compatible microphone
-
There's plenty of gain available for even the least sensitive dynamic microphones, and it provides phantom power for condenser mics
-
The customer service department blames dynamic microphones or customers for not being loud enough
-
I have little doubt that the Blue Icicle will get the job done with a Shure SM-58, or similar "dynamic" microphone.
