Having owned the Snowball Ice and now this Snowball Mic the stand on the Snowball is much more stable than the Ice, as well as being taller and heavier

Other than that, I found that the stand it comes with can be finicky at times
The stand is a little weak but otherwise sound quality and use is amazing!
The one big issue I had is the stand is a little flaky and doesn't stay
Because it is USB, all the background noise and analog RF interference of a PC do not effect the recording.
Compared to dealng with a soundcard and the noise with it.. it records a clean, sharp, recording with excellent/very good sensitivity
A difference of an inch can change the audio levels a lot and since there is significant lag in the analog to digital conversion it is nearly impossible to monitor the levels while recording oneself
This is top of the line for those who really need that "perfect recording sound".
only problem I have had is that recording guitars sounds rather dull
Price is not too expensive but it has the quality of a 500$ mic.
It's not worth the price in my opinion because the quality of the mic isn't that great.
Great microphone for the price absolutely recommended to anybody!Cheers
Now there are plenty of more expensive microphones out there, this one is great for both the price and the quality to be honest its just as good as the yeti and the price is cut in half!
Even with the cheap price, this microphone does everything you would want
I've ordered a Samson G-Track, which supports real time monitoring.
I needed a new mic for my daily calls on Skype as well as for school and other various uses
I had one shipped to me, didn't like that background hum, sent it back thinking it was a problem with the mic, and got another one that sounded exactly the same
I use it in a classroom with kids and they can record with good sound quality even with the background hum of a busy room (not the most ideal recording conditions)
Not good as you expect : This microphone will not good as you think, so if you think this microphone will be mind blown, it actually isn't
I heard alot of reviews on this site that this mic isn't compatible with Vista, but strangely when I plugged in this microphone into my comp it managed to work just as good as with my first computer
Took me a while, but o well, it worked and that's what matters to me
While I fully believe that I received a lemon, Blue's support staff claimed that my four Macs running Leopard were to blame for the Snowball not being recognized and/or only sending an over-modulated static signal

The red light on the mic will still light, but Windows will bring up an error trying to find the driver
If you require a microphone that will work on Windows Vista, be sure to contact the manufacturer BEFORE buying this product to ensure that they have upgraded the firmware to support Windows Vista.
You would think a company like Bluedesign would be concerned about losing many Windows 10 customers, and would provide support and guidance on their website
Although it's an older model, it works fine under Windows 7 and Windows 10.
I was worried at first because I plugged it into an available USB port on my USB3 hub, and Windows 7 said the device was not working correctly.
If you're starting out in voice over work this is a great starting place especially if you couple this with a cheap pop filter
I suggest also purchasing a cheap (<$10) pop filter for this microphone to the avoid the pop sound on certain sounds (go say "pop" loudly in just about any microphone and you will see what I mean)
Took me a while, but o well, it worked and that's what matters to me
If you have a pop filter (which a very cheap and can also be made at home) then I recommend purchasing this product or the Blue Yeti Microphone as they both are of great quality.

This mic picks up WAY more background noise than my Blue Yeti

Not entirely whether this is just a defective unit, but the sound on this was just awful
It comes with a shiny tripod base unit to support the microphone that looks very professional
I just wanted to share my story in case someone else has an issue of only one of the three settings working, just know that it's probably a defective unit!
There is no way to up the gain and after a quick search on google, it seems that Blue knows that either there is a compatibility issue with Windows 7 32bit or that there are some bad units in circulation.
I'm thinking I likely got a defective unit, as I've heard other people using this particular
Instead, they blame Microsoft and even suggest creating a separate XP-only partition on your hard drive so you can use this mic.
I thought the snowball would be too sensitive and pickup the hum of the aircon or the whirringsound of the 2-bay external hard drive near
Very little background noise, even when cars and trucks are driving by.
I had a hard-drive failure and was forced to reinstall windows and, ever since then I've had a problem with my snowball not being detected on the system, but it works fine on other systems
