The seller sent me the wrong mic, the Snowball Ice, which while the microphone is the same there are three toggle settings on the non-Ice edition

This mic is incredible, each of the 3 settings works well, whether you want it to pick up your voice only, an instrument or all sounds in the room

It takes a bit of getting used to (especially if you come from a cheap $15 condensor mic) with it's superior sensitivity

It's no replacement for a proper studio mic and proper sound-proofing, but the price is low enough to not worry about it.

The only real con would be the fact that the lack of XLR (sound industry standard) connector means you can't use this beautiful mic to record in any setting but at a computer.

I googled which mic is great for Skype/Music recording and Blue Mics came up several times in forums, I checked it out and fell in love with the design of the microphone

It is also without a doubt an awesome mic. for singers and podcasters as well

I have just started to record some basic songs of my vocals / guitar, and this mic pics up everything in really good quality! extremely happy with this product especially for the price paid!

this Mic blows away the Mic in my webcam which is not a real cheapie and is suppose to be better than average.

This mic has issues with the #2 setting (the -10dB setting on the cartoid mic) -- your audio will be compromised

Also, this mic is limited to 44khz 16-bit recording, which is still CD quality and great for most applications - but I run 96khz 24-bit audio for tracking in my home studio.

This mic is not as loud but gives you no static at all.

On top of that I have found it works as an excellent gaming mic - sitting at the back of my desk and picking up my voice perfectly clear with no extra background noise from nearly 2 feet away

In retrospect I should have gone with The Yeti for omnidirectional recording, but for just starting, The Snowball is a great mic for about half the price

my cousin bought this mic worked good for him for a week then bought the yeti and gave me the snowball it worked well for a week or to then its not being recognized on everyone's computer i call blue they tell me to turn the cord 100 degrees and plug it back in it dose not do a thing they said get amazon to send you a new one or get one through us

It doesn't even show on the USB icon thing, so I can't "safely remove hardware and eject media".The only solution I have come up with is to go to device manager and disable the device when not using it, however the red light is still present, just the mic is disabled.

The mic is so powerful that it picks up more background than I am used to, will have to build up a recording area to resolve this minor issue, but other than that everything is perfect.

This mic is great and does capture the subtleties of your voice or instrument of choice and does have 3 modes for different recording environments, the 2nd of which being a less sensitive version of the 1st, which is just a full volume frontal recording mode, while the 3rd mode is meant for round table discussions or for recording a live band for example
