You have to put your device within one foot of it for it to work

For an example I want to connect to my Echo device and then this device keeps stealing the connection

So, if you're ok with it and can remember to unplug power when you're done when you have multiple BT devices or turn off BT on your device (my alarm music would play in a different room in the house and NOT wake me up when connected to this device) then this device is good, great even if you only have one BT device you want to stream to in your house

I've dealt with this before on other cheap devices, and the trick is to apply some force to the pin in the jack just enough to alter the angle in an extremely miniscule sense

That distance gets shorter when you try to pass through walls or buildings, but then you could just leave you device in range and enjoy your music.
