Perfect size for morning coffee for two...makes about 2 1/2 mugs of coffee.
Excellent product and just the right size to serve the amount of coffee needed during visits from friends.
But there are a few reasons why I especially like this particular press: firstly, as a bachelor living alone, this is the perfect size, making 1-2 cups of coffee at a time; and secondly, it is extremely easy to clean
I purchased this because i thought it would be the perfect size for when family and friends are over as well as my morning cup, but the only thing it can be used for is multiple cups.
While I haven't perfected the coffee house iced coffee recipe just yet, the Bodum Charmbord allows me to cold brew 8 cups of iced coffee easily with little cleanup required.
Those who know coffee, know that a French press easily makes the purest cup of coffee out there.
This is my first french press and I felt it was very easy to make a great cup of coffee.
One side has a "kink" in it, so the grinds just flow right through this hole and ruin every cup I make.
Makes a great cup of coffee but not good to the last drop.
In the past I have “gone cheap” only to regret the purchase because the quality of the brewing process was poor
presses out there because Bodum presses are amazing quality and make delicious coffee (which is important for a coffee addict with high standards).
It's a good quality French press, especially for the price
Very poor quality, the thinest of glass
You need to make sure your coffee grounds are on the larger/ course side because some will seep through the mesh but other than that this French press is top quality
Makes a great tasting cup of coffee and the coffee is hot
Looks handsome on my kitchen counter and makes a great tasting cup of coffee.
I had forgotten how bad perculator type coffee tastes until I made coffee with this thing
I know it depends on the coffee brand, grind, etc., but if you are use to today's modern great tasting brews then this will be the same big disappointment for you as it was for me
Dependable and what I prefer to use for great tasting coffee over anything else.
I like good coffee and brewers, makers, K-cups, percolators, whatever does not compare to a press
I only have two suggestions that could improve this coffee maker
The plunger felt loose in the carafe and was held in place by plastic, and after just a few hand-washings the filter lost its shape and no longer filtered as well as when it was new
Bought the exact replacement, and it's a fantastic coffee maker
Overall, the Bodum Chambord 8 cup French Press is an easy to use, durable coffee maker that will brew you the perfect cup of coffee every time if you follow a simple procedure.
The very first time we used it the glass shattered when hot water was poured in
For an alternate coffee experience, try Cold Press coffee - done with cold water, overnight, you will find a milder, smoother flavor to your coffee
Because fancy coffee utensils always makes coffee taste like, well, fancy dirty water
Be sure to use coarse ground coffee beans and be careful that your water is not too hot and this beauty works like a charm.
French presses are incredibly easy to use: heat up the water in a kettle, place the coarse coffee grounds in the carafe, pour the water in, steep for a few minutes, and depress the plunger
Screen straining mechanism appears to be a quality design (not a real flexible screen and it strains the coffee really good (like the product - would recommend it to anyone looking for a french press)
Clearly, since the shipping box was intact, the product was packed already damaged.
This product replaced another brand's french press -- I'd lost a part and couldn't find manufacturer info about replacements.
If you think I'm exaggerating, let me just say I haven't even covered all the reasons this product is bad
I purchased based on the good reviews but this product is inherently flawed
The larger one showed up and worked as well as the first, but the glass was so loose in the frame that I was afraid it was going to fall into the sink and smash to bits while pouring
I'll fix it by adding some thin silicone pads in the frame so when tightened will hug the glass more effectively
The glass cracked either from boiling water or pressure when pressing it.
Glass pour spout broke when it tapped something as I was taking it out of the dishwasher.
The chrome band at the top is too loose to securely keep the glass from sliding out when cleaning and the clasp at the bottom of the handle is not mechanically sound (easily separates from the handle).
I bought it because I needed a new beaker and the entire press didn't seem like much extra money, but the mix of plastic and chrome just makes it seem cheap
Broke theflsss beaker in my plastic chambord, and decided to go with a little bit of a fancier one
The beaker falls out of the case really easily, making a breaking hazard.
The beaker for the coffee maker was broken on arrival when I opened the box.
The missing star is because the instructions give multiple warnings about breaking the glass beaker.
If I want a 16oz cup of Crio Bru, I need to add more water, and thus more grounds - adding to waste and expense
High quality and tight-fitting built-in filter that keeps coarse grounds at bottom of press when pouring coffee.
French presses are incredibly easy to use: heat up the water in a kettle, place the coarse coffee grounds in the carafe, pour the water in, steep for a few minutes, and depress the plunger
The fit of the beaker in the frame is not very precise, but it is easy to keep clean, and makes good coffee if you use coarse grounds, stir in the grounds in after adding the water don't and give them a few minutes to steep.
Press does a nice job of keeping grounds out of coffee.

Just take a look at other 1-star customer reviews: coffee grounds escaping the filter, metal frame rusting, glass jar cracking, plunger getting looser with each use, customer service refusing to replace filter, handle breaking off, glass jar exploding when pushing plunger down, etc.$7.21 for return shipping also
It seems the current version is cheap - glass is thinner, metal is not as good, and the plunger seems cheap.
