Makes really good brewed coffee and looks good on the counter.

I studied the reviews on coffee geek.com extensively before selecting the high end of the less expensive brew pots

Other than that great brewing system.

Since the water is delivered from the reservoir to the coffee by boiling I don't see how it supposedly lowers the temperature to the "ideal brewing temperature" in the space of 3 inches.

The carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot, not even hot when it's done brewing, so how could it!!!

The carafe is heavier and more bulky than a glass carafe, but it keeps the coffee tasting like fresh-brewed coffee, instead of the burned-out flavor of coffee sitting on a hotplate that you get with a non-thermal automatic drip coffee maker

However, it is not nearly bad enough to pass up the amazing freaking coffee this thing brews

It works great, far better then the brew-through design of my last coffee maker

I've never spent over $300 for an automatic coffee maker and I'm hoping that having found the perfect brew, the machine will hold up to new types of full-bodied coffees

A bit noisy while brewing but the brewing process is quick and it then shuts itself off automatically so it does not continue to heat the made coffee.

The features I wanted were a (relatively) compact size, 8-cup capacity, speedy brewing process, and a stainless steel thermos to keep the freshly-brewed coffee hot over the course of a few hours

All you need is high quality coffee, and you're set for a solid daily brew

However, it is a bit of a pain that a cup of coffee cannot be taken mid- brew and if left too long unattended after brewing, the coffee can cool off as the coffee lid must be put on after the brewing basket is removed

That said, I'm done with thermal carafes because they don't keep the brew hot enough for any real period of time (an hour or more) or even produce hot coffee .

I get the correct brewing temp for my grind.

Overall, the flaws in its design outweigh its adequate coffee brewing

My final solution to this problem is to decant a fresh brewed pot into a quality stainless steel vac insulated 1 liter water bottle.

I had been wanting a coffee maker in our home for months, since up to this point all my brewing at home over the last two years has been with a Chemex or a V60 (or more often, cold brew, since I live in Arizona)

But once you've had well brewed coffee from a good drip maker like this, it's kind of impossible to go back to a Mr. Coffee.

This coffee maker achieves proper brew temperature thus it's SCAA certification, the pre-infusion option is also a nice touch

I love the fast brew time but the carafe needs some serious redesigning.

I think this may be happening because of the fast brew time in combination with the small drop hole.

Fast brew, simple, quality product, consistent hot coffee.

Makes an excellent brew and actually uses less coffee than we were using with the Bunn to get a suitably rich result

It claims that the heater maintains an optimal brewing temperature of 195 - 205 degrees, yet when making 8 cups of coffee the temp of the coffee is only 175.

The manual says that optimal brewing temperature is from 195-205*F but my instant read thermometer only ticks up to about 192*, I'll keep checking this

no frills...just an awesome "shower head" that makes for a really nice brew.

Microwaving fresh brewed coffee the day of buying a brand new machine for over a $

so if you really want to smell your coffee brewing, you may be disappointed

Fast brewing

My first brews were very strong, overwhelming and bitter and I really thought I'd made a mistake buying this coffee maker

The description gushes over the "Powerful and precise 1500-watt heater maintains optimal brewing temperature of 195"

The brew is prompt and full of flavor, however, I use organic Arabica beans that I grind immediately before brewing, so I would think that this maker could swing a good pot of coffee with these beans.

So great for a quick brew, great for a pot that retains it's heat without a warmer underneath but bad for not including a lid or a better design for pouring

The coffee is great and brews at the right temperature

You also cannot sneak a cup midway brewing due to the set up of the filter

I’d just say that overall, it’s fine, but there are coffee makers out there for the same price that offer many more features (like single cup, cold brew, etc), are easier to use, sleeker, and stay hot much longer.

The coffee brewed from this coffeemaker is excellent.

If bells and whistles are your things like self-sealing carafes, brew cycle tones, programmable brew timer and auto cleaning

I do so by brewing a full pot of hot water into this one, using the brewed hot water that i pour out to warm my coffee mug.

And it's a really fast brew -- like 6 minutes
