Bonavita 8-Cup One-Touch Coffee Maker Featuring Hanging Filter Basket and Thermal Carafe, BV1901PS

    • Makes really good brewed coffee and looks good on the counter.
    • I studied the reviews on coffee geek.com extensively before selecting the high end of the less expensive brew pots
    • Other than that great brewing system.
    • Since the water is delivered from the reservoir to the coffee by boiling I don't see how it supposedly lowers the temperature to the "ideal brewing temperature" in the space of 3 inches.
    • The carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot, not even hot when it's done brewing, so how could it!!!
    • Does a decent job brewing, but has some issues
    • The brew was good
    • The carafe is heavier and more bulky than a glass carafe, but it keeps the coffee tasting like fresh-brewed coffee, instead of the burned-out flavor of coffee sitting on a hotplate that you get with a non-thermal automatic drip coffee maker
    • However, it is not nearly bad enough to pass up the amazing freaking coffee this thing brews
    • It works great, far better then the brew-through design of my last coffee maker
    • I've never spent over $300 for an automatic coffee maker and I'm hoping that having found the perfect brew, the machine will hold up to new types of full-bodied coffees
    • Most important when brewing for more people than just myself
    • Accurate water temperature control, fast brewing, excellent insulated thermal carafe.
    • Temperature control and fast brewing are great.
    • I suspected the problem to be inconsistent brewing temperature
    • Started out hopeful for hot well brewed coffee
    • While the flavor of the coffee brewed in this coffee market is excellent I have taken off two stars because the carafe does not keep the coffee warm
    • I chose this maker for a fast, good tasting, hot brew
    • Very noisy brew cycle.
    • Overall I recommend this coffee maker for the enthusiast that demands a great cup of drip coffee and doesn't mind a cumbersome brewing and pouring experience.
    • However, once the coffee brews, it doesn’t stay hot even though it has a thermos carafe
    • So if you're brewing coffee and you're not there as it's done brewing, your coffee now starts to lose heat.
    • Makes a good brew rather quickly
    • The aroma that fills the kitchen while brewing is always enticing.
    • It lives up to that with ease of use, hot product and FAST brewing.
    • I’ve had this coffee pot for a year, and it definitely makes the best brew of any pot I’ve owned
    • I've begun brewing coffee and then transferring to a better thermal carafe, this defeats the purpose of buying a coffee maker with a thermal carafe
    • Holds a good brew temp
    • A bit noisy while brewing but the brewing process is quick and it then shuts itself off automatically so it does not continue to heat the made coffee.
    • The features I wanted were a (relatively) compact size, 8-cup capacity, speedy brewing process, and a stainless steel thermos to keep the freshly-brewed coffee hot over the course of a few hours
    • Right temp good brew
    • All you need is high quality coffee, and you're set for a solid daily brew
    • However, it is a bit of a pain that a cup of coffee cannot be taken mid- brew and if left too long unattended after brewing, the coffee can cool off as the coffee lid must be put on after the brewing basket is removed
    • That said, I'm done with thermal carafes because they don't keep the brew hot enough for any real period of time (an hour or more) or even produce hot coffee .
    • I get the correct brewing temp for my grind.
    • Overall, the flaws in its design outweigh its adequate coffee brewing
    • I am sure this is made worse by the fact that the coffee simply isn't hot enough when first brewed
    • Coffee was not very good when brewed in this product.
    • This coffeemaker makes a good brew of
    • The coffee brewed by the unit is fine and better than other drip units that I have used
    • I like a very robust and flavorful brew which simply cannot be achieved brewing so fast.
    • It's the best coffee maker I have ever used in my entire LIFE.Grind, use blooming feature, brew, SMILE.It's that simple
    • : I would have kept this at 3 stars BUT after 3 months the coffee maker just started shutting off mid brew, sometimes not even mid brew, and then would overheat when we tried to finish the brew cycle
    • Only wish the brewing cup capacity were higher and the brewed coffee a little hotter.
    • Insulated carafe keeps the brew hot for over two hours.
    • My final solution to this problem is to decant a fresh brewed pot into a quality stainless steel vac insulated 1 liter water bottle.
    • fast brew and hot!!!
    • Best home brewed
    • I was skeptical about the flat bottom filter, but the coffee has a bit more of punch to it (could be the hotter brewing temp, too
    • You end up with less water going into the carafe and a stronger brew.
    • Mechanics are poor brewing taste OK.
    • I never used the timer or the brew interrupt features of other pots
    • Carafe keeps coffee hot for several hours.....great brew
    • Pros: Great tasting coffee; easy to set up; simple designCons: no clock (minor but still); coffee filter sits on top of the carafe, so it has to be taken off and replaced with a screw on cap every time you brew coffee; no ability to delay brew
    • Unfortunately, the lid to the carafe has a very poor seal, resulting in brewed coffee that cools far too quickly
    • However, it is not nearly bad enough to pass up the amazing freaking coffee this thing brews
    • The carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot, not even hot when it's done brewing, so how could it!!!
    • I had been wanting a coffee maker in our home for months, since up to this point all my brewing at home over the last two years has been with a Chemex or a V60 (or more often, cold brew, since I live in Arizona)
    • Very, very fast brewing
    • But once you've had well brewed coffee from a good drip maker like this, it's kind of impossible to go back to a Mr. Coffee.
    • Great Brew
    • This coffee maker achieves proper brew temperature thus it's SCAA certification, the pre-infusion option is also a nice touch
    • I love the fast brew time but the carafe needs some serious redesigning.
    • I think this may be happening because of the fast brew time in combination with the small drop hole.
    • You can now grab your favorite mug and enjoy a cup of well brewed coffee
    • I was replacing a Bunn, which I loved mostly for the reason of a fast brew
    • I liked this purchase for its size and good brewing, but my husband couldn’t resist the noise and the fact that doesn’t have a lid while brewing
    • It seems the water no longer gets hot enough to make a good brew, although I'm not finding this easy to assess.
    • Fast but proper brew time and temperature
    • Fast brew, simple, quality product, consistent hot coffee.
    • Makes an excellent brew and actually uses less coffee than we were using with the Bunn to get a suitably rich result
    • Great brew
    • It claims that the heater maintains an optimal brewing temperature of 195 - 205 degrees, yet when making 8 cups of coffee the temp of the coffee is only 175.
    • The manual says that optimal brewing temperature is from 195-205*F but my instant read thermometer only ticks up to about 192*, I'll keep checking this
    • no frills...just an awesome "shower head" that makes for a really nice brew.
    • Microwaving fresh brewed coffee the day of buying a brand new machine for over a $
    • so if you really want to smell your coffee brewing, you may be disappointed
    • It also smells better when its brewed
    • Fast brewing
    • My first brews were very strong, overwhelming and bitter and I really thought I'd made a mistake buying this coffee maker
    • The description gushes over the "Powerful and precise 1500-watt heater maintains optimal brewing temperature of 195"
    • The brew is prompt and full of flavor, however, I use organic Arabica beans that I grind immediately before brewing, so I would think that this maker could swing a good pot of coffee with these beans.
    • So great for a quick brew, great for a pot that retains it's heat without a warmer underneath but bad for not including a lid or a better design for pouring
    • The coffee is great and brews at the right temperature
    • You also cannot sneak a cup midway brewing due to the set up of the filter
    • (even from pre-ground coffee, it's noticeably better than what my $100 Cuisinart made.)--fast brewing (probably 5-6 minutes for the entire pot.)--very nice thermal carafe; keeps coffee hot for about 1.5 hours and drinkably warm (my opinion) for about 3-4 hours.--small footprint--auto turn off; never worry that you left it on, because you can't!Cons:
    • I’d just say that overall, it’s fine, but there are coffee makers out there for the same price that offer many more features (like single cup, cold brew, etc), are easier to use, sleeker, and stay hot much longer.
    • I wish this had this function, but the FAST brew time makes up for it!
    • The coffee brewed from this coffeemaker is excellent.
    • If bells and whistles are your things like self-sealing carafes, brew cycle tones, programmable brew timer and auto cleaning
    • I do so by brewing a full pot of hot water into this one, using the brewed hot water that i pour out to warm my coffee mug.
    • And it's a really fast brew -- like 6 minutes
    • Coffee produced is EXCELLENT!Amount brewed dependent upon grind
