Bonavita 8-Cup One-Touch Coffee Maker Featuring Hanging Filter Basket and Thermal Carafe, BV1901PS

    • Don't buy it unless you want to take chances pouring without a lid (because there is no lip and water or coffee goes everywhere) or unless you like screwing awkward lid on and off and on and off for each pot of coffee.
    • This could be a positive to some folks though.-since the carafe lid must be detached while brewing, if you wait too long to remove the filter basket and grinds, your coffee seems to loose temp more quickly than if you place the carafe lid on immediately-when you remove the filter basket and the used grinds, you will need to place it on something to soak up the drips since it will continue to drip a bit
    • It is does leave some coffee in the pot because of the stainless pot/lid
    • Maybe not a big deal to some, but the design doesn't work for us: You have to take off the carafe lid (great carafe, BTW) to brew coffee, then remove the carafe and basket to put the lid on, and it takes a bit of monkeying around to get it to do all that ... and at 3 or 4 in the morning when we're getting
    • The lid must be removed from the carafe for brewing, so either the lid is loose on the counter, or the brew basket
    • The carafe lid can be somewhat difficult to put on at times.
    • (the new lid is better, however).2.
    • As annoying as people find the BV lid, the Behmor retains more and isn't as well-insulated
    • The carafe IS difficult to pour from unless the lid is screwed on (I've ended up with coffee all over my counter twice), but the lid is very easy to screw on and off
    • Bought this coffee maker and it arrived with a small plastic clip, which holds the lid on, broken off
    • Lid to the coffeepot was defective
    • (some of these really aren't "fair" because the product doesn't make any claims about them, but nonetheless the consumer might want to consider them.)--A rather awkward way of dealing with the grounds' basket (where does it go after brewing?)--Not the easier carafe and carafe lid to clean
    • First, the carafe lid fell apart completely in about 4 months.
    • I do agree with other reviewers that the lid for the stainless steel craft is quite brittle and can break easily
    • HOT coffee, easy to operate, carafe lid could be better
    • The problem is, the lid - even when fully closed and supposedly sealed - allows coffee to seep out, which leaves a puddle on the table next to your mug each time you pour
    • The lid broke a few weeks ago in that it doesn't tighten all the way and leaks irregardless of what I do
    • For whatever reason that bothers me as either the lid or the brewing basket is left sitting around
    • Coffee cannot be poured from the carafe without spilling over the sides and all over the counter (or sink) unless the twisting locking lid in place
    • The lid leaked the first few times we used it, but my hubby was able to adjust it and make it stop leaking.
    • The same lid's design intrudes into the carafe enough so the last
    • I would give the Bonavita 5 stars except I don't like the setup with the filter basket and separate carafe lid.
    • The MoccMaster brew basket lid traps steam, so steam isn't much of an issue there.
    • You're supposed to disassemble the lid to clean, but putting it back together is a hassle.
    • If you use carafe to fill the reservoir, you have to screw the lid back on to keep from spilling, and the lid pours super slow.
    • And the lid is very hard to get on - you have to find the magic spot that the grooves will catch and then turn 1 1/2 times
    • and the lid fell apart the first time I used it
    • Don't like the drip cup..have to take it off n put lid on
    • I like the lid for the carafe
    • I may order the double walled carafe eventually since it appears the lid for that may be easier to put back on.
    • The carafe also doesn't keep it as warm as l like it for long.
    • After brewing, my first cup of coffee is not even as hot as I like
    • doesn't keep the coffee hot as I
    • Thanks for the information, as I really like my coffee hot!
