Bonavita BV382510V 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle

    • Love the gooseneck spout for pour-over coffee--I use an immersion drip system, and I think that being able to control the precise temp of the water helps me make the best coffee possible, more consistently
    • There's even a feature where once the kettle has been lifted out of the base, a timer can be triggered (by pressing the + button)which is a great help for steeping coffee/tea, etc.
    • If you love coffee or tea, this kettle will not disappoint!I've tried to take care of it by keeping water in it, not letting it get hot without water inside, and only filling it with filtered water
    • It heats quickly, has a timer useful for slow-pour coffee, and has a hold feature that allows me to heat the water and leave it ready to go for other household members
    • Since the neck is large, I'm still practicing on pouring water into my freshly ground coffee in a consistent amount of water
    • so I lowered the temperature gauge far lower than it needs to be which resulted in better coffee but an uneven cup
    • I am very happy with this, if precise hot water control is what is needed for best coffee/tea/whatever
    • You can set it to any temperature and it will hold it while you grind your coffee beans and set up your chemex/clever coffee dripper/aeropress
    • I can fill this with water, hit run, and by the time I am done grinding the coffee the water is at exactly 175 degrees!!
    • Spout gives perfect pour over water control for perfect coffee.
    • You need to control temperature if you actually want to make good coffee
    • My favorite bevvies are coffee and green tea, and this works at 180 degrees for the tea and 200 degrees for the coffee.
    • I love coffee and I brew it using various different methods
    • Then I grind coffee, etc.
    • This is absolutely wonderful for coffee perfectionists like me.
    • Unless you put a whole lot more water in it than you need, the kettle will heat up to perfect AeroPress/green tea temp by the time you electric burr grind your coffee and load your AeroPress or French Press
    • Coffee heaven!
    • Fantastic tea and precise coffee electric kettle for all your precise temperature needs.
    • All in all, really happy with it so far, and my coffee is better than ever
    • We do use the temperature settings and it has even made a difference for different teas in addition to an ideal coffee temperature
    • If anyone, find a better coffee kettle.
    • I do it using the pour-over method with my Clever Coffee Dripper.
    • No, I can program it to a set temperature and walk away with no worry of winding up with oversteeped, bitter tea or coffee
    • I thought my coffee was good, but didn't realize the impact that highly variable water temperature really has on flavor
    • I'm a relatively picky coffee drinker who uses multiple methods, and the ability to choose a precise temperature depending on your brewing method (or in the case of tea, which variety) was amazing
    • A must for us coffee snobs.
    • The best coffee I have been able to make so far is with the AeroPress, but I need to make 20 ounces of coffee each morning and unfortunately I cannot figure out a good way to make 20 ounces at one time with the AeroPress.
    • I use the Bonavita with my Clever Coffee dripper and can make two 12 oz
    • If you like good coffee or tea - or want to be more precise when you bake - this is a very useful little pot to heat your water in!
    • Where most of the competition merely lets you direct a flat, misshapen ribbon of splash-prone hot water in the general direction of your beverage, the Bonavita spout gives you a clean, well-defined stream that’s useful whether you’re blooming coffee or wetting loose-leaf tea
    • Some of the reviews mentioned rust but after use I dry out the insides, stuff a dish towel inside it and place it upside down on a trivet and let it dry while we enjoy our coffee
    • my favorite coffee shop uses these, so i asked their opinion
    • I hand grind my coffee
    • I try to convince my friends to buy it, but they're not coffee snobs like me:)
    • I made coffee with it twice a day, and by a rough calculation it worked about 2,000 times before failing
    • It works consistently like a chamr, heating a cup-worth of water to coffee or tea temp (~195 degrees) in about 30 seconds, and a french press worth in around 2 minutes
    • It gets and holds the temperature which helps me brew great coffee and great tea
    • I simply pour a cup of water in, start it, temperature is preset by me, quickly and accurately heats the water, pour into waiting coffee in my Clever Coffee Dripper and in 4 minutes I have excellent, fresh coffee
    • I can get a perfect tasting coffee every time with accurate temperature control
    • Even though we have a nice coffee maker next to it, we didn't have a way to heat hot water.
    • hot tea and coffee again.
    • Paired with a V60 and it's the best coffee I've ever had
    • Made the best coffee ever
    • Paired with a Hario V-60, this helps make some of the best coffee I've ever made
    • Previously, I used my 'normal' electric water-boiler without a temperature control and would take the temperature of the water to make the best coffee, green tea, etc
    • With high quality lightly roasted Ethiopian, Costa Rican, etc.beans from a well reviewed roaster, and a good reasonably priced home-only grinder such as the Baratza Virtuoso set at the correct grind setting, kept as clean as possible daily, you should have an excellent coffee experience
    • This purchase has likely had a larger impact on consistently delicious well-brewed coffee in my house than any single purchase other than beans
    • The gooseneck makes brewing pour over coffee much easier (controls rate that coffee brews)
    • I really liked how quick and easy this kettle boils coffee for my pour over coffee (Philz Coffee style)
    • Looks great in our kitchen, heats water quickly to the desired temp, and helps us have perfect coffee for both our French press & pour-over.
    • This kettle heats water quickly and will hold the temperature for up to an hour, which is convenient if you have a husband that likes to sleep late but needs fresh coffee as soon as he ambles into the kitchen
    • I have been able to enjoy my greens, blacks, and herbal teas and coffee at the best brew temperatures and it's really made a differenceedit: I've owned this for 10 months and the Bonavita has held up
    • Did not get high enough for hot coffee water
    • If you care about good coffee, you will buy this kettle
    • I have used the Keurig, French press and have discovered the pour over method makes the best coffee using the Bonita gooseneck.
    • I delayed for a long time because I was afraid my wife, who thinks our coffee is pretty good already, would chastise me for ordering another expensive toy to aid with my coffee tinkering.
    • I like good coffee
    • and I have to reheat it and the process is blown because then the coffee is cold
    • This is the most common model I've seen in the nicer coffee shops as well
    • I usually have my boiling water ready before I finish grinding my coffee
    • The variable temperature feature is the best part of this kettle, allowing for easy switches between delicate teas and freshly ground coffee
    • The gooseneck gives ultimate control for pour overs and Chemex for the best coffee.
    • I have not bothered to buy a dedicated pour over kit, since this setup makes excellent coffee without adding other gadget to my kitchen
    • I used to use a french press and that is good coffee but nothing compared to this brew
    • I'll say it, I think this product is targeted to coffee snobs and snobs in general like myself
    • Other than a bit of harmless discoloration in the seams inside, 'tis a quality kettle for slow pouring drip coffee
    • roadHonestly it's a great kettle, well worth the money, I use it at least once daily, I drink coffee in the morning but switch to tea later, and I love that I can set the temp just where I want it for my green tea or my wife's herbal tea
    • Awesome addition to my new fancy coffee-making ritual.
    • I am not convinced it makes a difference in taste (as opposed to a regular spouted stovetop kettle; some claim there is a real taste difference because of the gooseneck, I doubt it), but it does make the process easierThe hold setting is especially nice in the morning when I want to have the water waiting at 205 while I grind coffee
    • Looking forward to making perfectly steeped teas and coffees!
    • Conclusion: if you're considering this kettle as a coffee nerd who likes the pour-over process, definitely get it
    • I love the coffee it makes; and the green tea, very delicate and demanding about water temperature, is the best I have ever tasted.
    • Great coffee or tea
    • I now make perfect coffee!
    • You really need the temperature regulation to make really great coffee.
    • This makes this kettle both a ton safer than a regular kettle, and it makes it so that you can get ultra delicious coffee with devices like the Aeropress which benefit from a specific pour pattern
    • But very strong metallic taste that ruins any coffee I make with this
    • I am starting to learn how to brew a nice coffee by hand instead of using a coffee machine.
    • After one use it has weird spots inside that I can’t remove and the coffee also tasted weird
    • I checked the actual water temp to preset and it was "dead on " with my calibrated thermometer when set to my preferred coffee temp of 202 degrees
    • This is a wonderful kettle for heating water to precise temperatures, which is important for making good coffee
    • Makes it easy to be able to get all of the coffee elements ready and to not have to worry about watching the kettle for boiling over, it's set and ready to go right when I need it
    • The variable temperature feature is the best part of this kettle, allowing for easy switches between delicate teas and freshly ground coffee
    • Could be my imagination, but the coffee tastes better as well.
    • For a coffee snob like myself, knowing the temperature of the water you're using is key
    • Great coffee or tea
    • That one started losing it's ability to brew hot coffee
    • Coffee and tea can taste good with near boiling water.
    • I make coffee in a french press every morning and this thing works perfect for me.
    • It heats up water so quickly, and I love the ability to choose precise temperatures (in both F and C) which works great for tea lovers who need different temperatures for different types of teas
    • For the types of tea I brew, I usually use temps in the mid 170ºFs, the upper 190ºFs, or boiling (212ºF), and it always feels like the right temperature
    • (Aeropress is 185 F, French press is 205 F, etc.), and I would just as soon not mess with a separate thermometer.
    • The kettle consistently said the water was anywhere from 20ºF to 50ºF colder than it actually was
