Bonavita BV382510V 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle

    • I wish this feature could be disabled, but it is probably a great feature for forgetful people who would leave it on to cook out all the water and burn itself out.
    • Another great feature is the waterproof cover
    • After a couple months of use, I'm generally happy with its abilities, but the "smart" features don't exactly line up how you'd hope, especially if you make pour-over coffee
    • Feature rich with simple operation
    • It has a number of handy features - pre-programmed temperatures, auto shut-off, maintain current temperature, etc
    • While this kettle has some amazing features, it came defective
    • It's a great feature
    • But, I could see where pour-over people would find it a nice feature
    • I love the hold feature on the temperature, and it pours without spilling a drop
    • If you are a tea drinker that uses water temps other than boiling, these are nice features to have!!
    • I also like the temperature 'hold' feature which will keep the water constant for an hour.
    • This waterpot pours nicely, but the thermostat feature is not the best feature
    • It brought water to the set temperature, and the keep warm feature worked great.
    • It's my favorite feature of the kettle
    • Its best feature is obviously the 1-degree temperature control, but the second-best is the removable/cleanable plastic protector on the base
    • This is clearly an important safety feature - if the thing turned back on after emptying you could burn out the unit
    • Nice features.
    • I have really appreciated the digital temperature feature but this also doesn't function very well on the hold feature
    • Another great feature is the ability to set and hold the temp so you can step away without worrying that the water will cool too much
    • Works quickly and has many great features.
    • This is a good feature, but lacks the convenience of my Cuisinart
    • We love the exact temp feature since I like my coffee water @ exactly 195 and vary tea temps from 185 to 206 based on variety
    • It's definitely not as cute as the Hario kettle, but it's digital, heats quickly, holds temp if needed, and gives me more control over my pours... which btw, is the most important feature when I'm making coffee.
    • The automatic controls for temperature are very easy to use, and a nice feature to have
    • This is a good feature, but lacks the convenience of my Cuisinart
    • The Bonavita kettle has great features and I would call it the perfect kettle if it was not for its fatal flaw: rust
    • I like the functionality and features, but it is falling apart after 2 weeks
    • The keep warm feature is also a must for my wife as she does multiple pours as she eats her
    • It's got a comfortable handle, an easy-to-use interface, great temperature accuracy, and nice features
    • great for making my green and white teas without guessing on the temperature.the hold temperature feature is also a good feature.
    • This is a really nice feature
    • All the features work as listed.
    • The stay-hot feature makes it worth every penny
    • I really like the features of the teapot
    • Nifty features
    • It leaks EVERYWHERE, and when tilting the kettle it will leak profusely - which is a great feature considering that it is leaking near boiling hot water on you
    • Being able to adjust the temperature is a great feature and it heats up quickly too.
    • I looked for another replacement but settled on buying another of these, the set and hold feature is that handy.
    • I brew my coffee using manual drip and the gooseneck is a very nice feature to have
    • Has hour-long hold feature- Nice size and
    • To me (besides the fact that it is cute and has a small footprint on my counter) the best feature is the digital control (and it seems to be very accurate).
    • Another good design feature is that the bottom is plastic, so even if you have a full, hot kettle the bottom is touchable and you can set it down without worry of heat
    • This is one of my favorite features
    • Good features about this kettle include mostly stainless construction, beepless design, commercial rating, and proven 5-year durability.
    • One of the best features of this kettle is the fact that I can set an ideal temperature and make sure that the kettle stated keeps the water that ideal temperature until I turn it off
    • My old pot had a window in the handle with water level clearly visible, and I miss that feature
    • It is simple, easy to use, and has great features
    • No beep, no alarm, nothing - I am amazed that this feature was overlooked in such an expensive small kitchen appliance!
    • I wish this feature could be disabled, but it is probably a great feature for forgetful people who would leave it on to cook out all the water and burn itself out.
    • This feature would be helpful to maintain the temperature throughout the brewing process or if you want multiple cups of tea.
    • As far as the kettle goes, I do love the features
    • This is a very useful feature, and we would keep the kettle if it weren't for the rust
    • The timer is an odd feature because it requires you to leave the kettle off the base for it to work.
    • Since water tends to cool off several degrees once removed from its heat source, I find this feature to be invaluable because it allows me greater control of the temperature variable, taking my coffee snobbery to dangerously high levels bordering those of organic chemistry
    • A nice added feature would be to have a few memory settings available to program frequently used temperatures
    • The one missing feature is boil-dry protection, but I can live without it.
    • Other great features are the slow-pour stream, temperature hold feature and sleek design
    • The one missing feature is boil-dry protection, but I can live without it.
    • The other annoying feature is the timer function.
    • Another great feature is the narrow spout, which allows precision pouring into small brewing vessels like gaiwans and Yixing teapots
    • It heats the water up pretty fast and I love the hold feature because it lets you set the
    • Easy to set up, and some really great features
    • This feature is really nice if you brew a coffe or tea that requires a 'non-standard' temperature.
    • it has nice features like temperature settings and a hold button.
    • Bad features include some (totally unnecessary) plastic inside the water-heating compartment.
    • The timer is a nice feature, and I use it, but I wish you could place the kettle back on the stand without making the timer go away
    • My favorite feature is the Hold Temp
    • For those who drink green tea, the temperature selection is a very nice feature.
    • The set and hold feature is wonderful
    • For the types of tea I brew, I usually use temps in the mid 170ºFs, the upper 190ºFs, or boiling (212ºF), and it always feels like the right temperature
    • (Aeropress is 185 F, French press is 205 F, etc.), and I would just as soon not mess with a separate thermometer.
    • The kettle consistently said the water was anywhere from 20ºF to 50ºF colder than it actually was
    • So five stars to Bonavita for the functionality of its gooseneck kettle, as well as for its friendly and efficient customer service
    • It seems if the water if boiling as much as it can and the set temperature is above the boiling point you'll get the error
    • I've also seen youtube review videos in which Bonavita staff seems quite passionate about this kettle as they excitedly go over all the features
    • However I began to notice white deposits on the outside of the spout as well as on the lid
    • The water heats up within a couple of minutes, and the kettle shuts itself off (but still provides a temperature reading as the water slowly cools.
    • The base malfunctioned after just over a year of use, and a replacement base was denied as it was just outside of warranty
    • If I DO find that I can no longer get it to boil as it should because of the
    • This one qualifies as "bad", but since they're replacing it, I list it as "not-so-good" for now
    • About as fast as a regular, boil-only hot water boiler
    • And that slows down even more as you approach your target
    • I've found that by setting the kettle to "hold" at 98 C, I can get it to work as
    • works as it should, heats very fast.
    • Sure, the product works as it should, but the shoddy craftsmanship (and acknowledgement from Bonavita that these kettles are susceptible to rust) is a red flag
    • I suspect that these obstructions are what keep this from flowing as fast as and smoothly as my Hario
