I have a few Amazon Echos that I love, but they're not the greatest range of sound
It's range and sound are fabulous and with the volume on full blast, there is music in every area of my house
[Update in October 2015: I recently set up a powerful wireless range extender in the room where I use this system, and the sync problems and some related playback issues disappeared, so they were probably a sign of a wireless dead zone to which the Bose was simply more sensitive than other devices used in the same room
I chose that system because AirPlay is universal (for iPhone users) in that it can be activated from any app, has lossless audio, range limited only by your wifi network and ease for a guests to connect.
(I can highly recommend that stand as it works well and allows for adjusting the vertical height of the TV as well as allowing the user to rotate the TV through a fairly reasonable range so you can easily angle or point the TV in any direction you might need for a better viewing angle).
For a tech Luddite like me, it was just amazing to hear that great, fat Bose sound, as well as be able to access the thousands of world-wide internet radio stations.
The radio is also great once I brought it home to try out
Tested the base response on KCRW in LA, favorite radio station
Great sound and internet radio which solves the poor of FM reception in our home, plus you can connect wirelessly to stream from your phone or computer
While the app has radio stations that seemingly work just fine to play music (even that has issues where the speakers routinly cut in and out routinely), it is a hopeless endavaor to stream my itunes library music over their app to my speakers
Until Bose can come up with a better way of connecting it's speakers to the Bose radio it
Sound is crystal clear, depth is amazing, but the bass could be handled in a better way

I love the way they can be connected or separate, but have never been that happy with the sound
The only way it would work is to pretend it's not wireless and just use the audio jack
As usual, the sound quality for Bose equipment is great.
To summarise: Great concept, very good sound, crappy quality (in my case, anyway, the Portable went dead after only one month of giving me the above error messages :) - had to get a new board AND pay for
In summary, no setup issues whatsoever and great sound quality
The sound quality is great and it is easy to transport almost anywhere.
; The sound quality is marginal at best, save your money and buy a cheaper better sounding unit.
The unit works in concert with the SmartTouch app designed for smartphones and tablets.
The other 25% is thinking the unit is defective, so another will work better.

Since they can be paired, if the units were not Bose-expensive, I would buy a couple more for other rooms
GREAT sound but aweful software and bluetooth auto shutdownIf BOSE would listen and fix the STUPID auto shut down and Bluetooth disconnect they would have my business and all my co workers and PROFESSIONAL musician colleagues as well!!!!I returned it and got a Peachtree Deepblue, sound quality slightly less good but good solid Bluetooth connection and unit STAYS ON connected ,unlike the stupid BOSE auto shut down and auto dis connect
But the software and operating system is so incredibly AWFUL that I would never recommend these speakers to anybody who is not a techie type of person who actually prefers trouble shooting all the problems and isn't really all that into listening to music.
This is a nice system but I found that the sound is too heavy on bass for my tastes
However, since then I've realized that the app and remote for controlling the system are both extremely lacking
Overall, this is a really nice compact system that offers the ability to link up to a variety of devices in order to stream music
With that in mind, this system provides a much needed boost to your music, playing it a little closer to house it should sound
Sure it isn't going to fill a concert hall with loud music, but it wasn't designed to -- it fills their home office and bedrooms with god sounding audio nicely, exactly why we bought the 20 rather than overkill with the 30.Only complaint I have was with Amazon's warehouse, not the product.
Set up is very easy to stream all your favorite music , set up took a total of 25 min with an online update to speaker .... do not think twice about buying this
Just a few examples: it doesn't support Apple Music or Amazon Music.
Quite honestly, this isn't a big deal for us, since Pandora, internet radio stations (including local ones), and our network library (WD My Cloud) give us more than enough music
Easy to set up, beautiful design, perfect music to enjoy, while painting art, dancing, working, etc
Of course, you don't get the wireless stuff, but the Bose isn't so hot at this either
Finally a chance to play cd quality on great Bose speakers!
That means that at any time, Bose can decide your speaker doesn’t work anymore
We bought a Bose ST20, Series II internet radio a couple years back and love it.
Hope Bose improves this issue because even if the speaker is plugged in and with all the wifi still get message it has so signal and will stop playing.
With respect to sound, I love the sound quality that this unit puts out; nice clear tones and rich bass.
The highs stay sharp, the mids stay rich, and the bass packs a punch
And here the second problem becomes apparent; the is a huge - and I mean genuinely overpowering - bass presence, at the expense of any mid range clarity
The sound fills the whole room and the bass is loud and clear.
Bass is surprisingly rich, probably overly aggressive on default settings in fact (there is a way to turn it down buried deep in the control app
WHich is 22+minutes of monotonous, euro-tech, 80’s, pop garbage

The SoundTouch ecosystem is a buggy, unreliable, frustrating mess.
The Echo rendered this all as a muddy mess, while the SoundTouch performed admirably
