This is a product you have to place well and use well, and you will enjoy it for years
The sound quality is the same great product as a brand new version for a fraction of the price!
To the extent that newer Bose models have been improved, I would recommend the product without hesitation.
It is very easy to tell someone that they will hear a superior product, so easy that an average consumer will actually be convinced of this fact until he or she is exposed to a real speaker, often at a lower price point
All that said, the Wave Radio (any of them) is a fine product provided that you aren't paying for it, or your getting a great deal on Craigslist, etc
Although I'm not a big fan of their Home Entertainment systems, this is by far the best sounding clock radio I've heard.
If you want a good clock radio for the nightstand, then I would suggest the Boston Recepter.
If ever there is a doubt about whether or not there is a better sounding clock radio/CD player system, just compare the sound of any other comparable system
She tells me all the time how much she loves her radio and how great the sound quality is.
Superb Quality & DesignThe first thing you'll notice, of course, is the awesome sound.
The sound quality is as good as any i have heard, and as far as the remote, it was easy to find one
It's performed not only adequately, but extremely well in all these things, always having a spacious quality sound with plenty of high, mid and bass and no muddiness
I suggest the Bose Wave Radio Series 1 over a Bose Companion 3 and Bose Mediamates for your computer, mainly for even better sound quality then them and more surround soundish effects
It's very nice when I play my Ipod and the music is crystal clear
Plus, I can take it in the kitchen if I'm preparing a big meal and enjoy my music
Anyway, I'm using it with an iPod (and high quality digital rips, not that iTunes 128k garbage) and it DOES provide a fantastic and portable solution for a bedroom, or even decent quality background music in a larger room

The commercials intimated (and still do) that this was the end-all, sleek audio solution that takes up virtually no space compared to traditional components

Given that the newest generation of the Bose Wave Radio is selling for upwards of $500, these olderones are a bargain when one can find them in excellent condition; that is when you can actually find them for sale, since many Bose Wave Radio owners hold onto them for decades

Monster Cable will charge hundreds for 'special' cable that alleges to improve your audio, when ANY decent gauge above the spools you buy at Wal-Mart will do

The only thing is if you go over 95 in volume the bass isn't as strong, but you'll never have to go over 75 or 80 for sure
It has enough bass and it is always deep, except in RARE cases of songs that have too much
Just make sure to place the radio close to a wall, especially right in a corner, to boost bass by a lot
too much treble, or fake bass that goes way past the levels of real bass(I am talking about insane deafning bass) then dont call that kind of sound lifelike please
One thing that I have learned as I've grown a bit is that what used to sound great (loud bass, screeching treble) now fatigues me
