But it's a good pedal effect

It's a dynamic effect that if you know what your looking/listening for you'll appreciate it.

Outstanding effect unit.

This gem would compliment any rig.

It does however make my cleans sound brighter and the attack is decent if dialed down

wont work with batteries, only power adaptor , still does not sound like others I have herd that are identical , Disappointed

I recommend messing with it quite a while

I have another compressor sustain pedal that was cheaper,and does a much better job

Does the job, very versatile for style of music

The Boss CS3 is right for me, I have been using it with excellent results, I have many compressors, Line6, MXR, Behringer, Digitech, and although I alternate their use the Boss stands out on many rig configurations, it can feel a little bit overcompressed sometimes but in general a very good product, I highly recommended it as your main compressor, if you dont like it

And Boss CS-3 is the best i've ever seen in this category!

Take my advice though-If you're buying this pedal, also consider buying the BOSS Noise Gate

This can result in a muddy, "neutered" tone, though you can play with the TONE and other settings to help it.

im now searching for another compressor, this one generates way too much background noise,however it has grate tone

As for the latter complaint (changes tone), that's also true, but it's not necessarily a bad thing if you LIKE the tone that results.

I took this off my board because it kills all tone.

Great tone & sustain oozes from this little box & stays in the "On" position for most of the time I am playing my electric guitars, especially any Stratocaster styled guitar I own.
