I tried for an hour, in the attic, to compress or expand the solid duct pipe to fit inside or outside the vent opening...until the adjustable elbow I was using broke.
Any decent range hood, if not your local building code, is going to require solid duct pipe with smooth walls.
The crimped end of the solid duct pipe is the exact same diameter as the opening on this vent.
The uncrimped side of the solid duct pipe is significantly larger than the vent opening, so I feel like increasing the crimps and managing to squeeze it in would leave it under some tension.

Arrived with only minimal bending to skirt that was easily straightened and flattened...good construction with strong seams and well finished.
It's a solid construction
Very sturdy construction with solid welds in joining seams and a good coat of baked in paint.

Maybe I got a bad one, but this thing leaks like a sieve.
Even shingles cannot have nails closer than 2 inches to the gap, such an inexpensive thing to save on

This unit should not be used for snow areas (way too short) or hurricane areas (poorly functioning baffle), or 'particular' people (too much noise from the baffle flap operation transferred down the pipe.
We've installed several of these and it is a consistently good unit with no issues
It's a good unit that includes the parts I consider essential - the 6" collar, a damper and a screen
Very solid, well built unit.

The 6" duct opening should be at least 2"-3" for easier installation of vent duct and a anti-slip raised rim at the bottom

Top Recommendation for installation in
Range Hoods
but I don't think it's going to fall out now that the roof vent is mounted
I installed this roof vent 4 years ago
When I was up on the roof cleaning gutters, I noticed roof vent was almost rusted through on the back side
I read multiple reviews about this and other roof vents

Second, the front portion below the vent opening should have weep holes so that any moisture or condensation could escape
I tried for an hour, in the attic, to compress or expand the solid duct pipe to fit inside or outside the vent opening...until the adjustable elbow I was using broke.
I'll look for some kind of adapter and, barring that, I think my best bet will be to find some way to smooth out the crimps in the duct slightly and have it fit over the vent opening.
The uncrimped side of the solid duct pipe is significantly larger than the vent opening, so I feel like increasing the crimps and managing to squeeze it in would leave it under some tension.
