Reviews around manual (5.00 of 5)

  • The manual could be improved but lots of info available on-line.
  • I have been through every setting in the radio as well as through the programming cable in CHIRP and cannot fix it
  • This seems to be a much improved version & also real nice manual so easy to read & understand, quite different than some of the previous versions of instruction manuals
  • The manual is excellent and, because I didn't order the programming cable, I was able to easily program the rig for my needs.

Reviews around range (5.00 of 5)

  • Having 5x the power of a handheld is obviously going to improve your range and clarity.
  • I was hoping for a budget radio to give me better range than my hand held radios.
  • Both the microphone clip and radio mount are metal, and the radio mount offers a decent pitch range, along with the option to mount the radio from the top (to the bottom of something, IE to your car's ceiling, instead of the dash)
  • I have been through every setting in the radio as well as through the programming cable in CHIRP and cannot fix it
  • I have had nothing but good reports on my audio and transmission quality, range is great, and when tested I am actually getting a bit more power than rated, 28W.As with all the BTECH radios, programming is a bit fidgety, but it has a good deal of options and functions built in.

Reviews around price (3.80 of 5)

  • The price is right, and the form factor is great, suitable for just about any car
  • Works great, you cant beat the price and doesn't even really need antenna.
  • Accidental transmissions onto channels B, C, and D are completely unavoidable
  • It is agood place to start in ham radio and is low enough price that having it stolen won't be as devastating as when my truck got stolen with a $600 dual band mobilein it
  • for me this is the only thing missing as I inquired if the wireless mic would work on the Btech UV-25X2 and the

Reviews around unit (2.82 of 5)

  • This is my second radio, and I don't see myself selling or trading it, just because it's such a decent unit

  • This unit does run warm on Tx; the fan will kick in fairly quickly
  • My first impression is that this unit is less susceptible than other rigs I have used; but more testing is needed
