CHIRP has no problem reading/writing the radio.

I used the lastest Chirp software running on Win 10 and worked the first time on my UV-5R and UV-82 radios

This is the only cable that will work on current BaoFeng UV-5R radios

So far this radio is doing great sounds good was easy to program with the cable would like to know why the charger keeps blinking when the radio is not in the charger I unplug the charger when I'm not using it

The 82HP is still a fantastic radio even

I'm lucky it didn't damage my radio or PC

This cable and CHIRP software make programming frequencies and adjusting radio setting much easier than the radio’s menu system.

CHIRP as well as the BaoFeng software peograms had no issue recognizing the radio.

Never really got to use (Sent back) since the radio was defective From just handling it, it seemed like good quality.

Of course, this cable costs nearly as much as the radio, but that just goes to show how ridiculously cheap the radios are at the moment ($25 shipped)

I know Btech and Baofeng radios are common for new ham radio operators to purchase as a first radio (lots of experienced hams love them too!).Seriously, get this cable, download the CHIRP programming software, and get busy enjoying the hobby, not getting frustrated that the radios are confusing to program.

The radio is very nice, but manual setup seems pretty convoluted, using cable and computer seemed to be a real plus.

I plugged this cable in and my 888s and UV-5X3 radios are happy now

I'm knocking off one star because of price, the cable costs almost as much as the radio I bought it for.

CHIRP is free software (www.fsf.org for definition), is cost-free, and is kept up to date by volunteers who love radio.

The radio worked perfectly and I was on the air on 2 meters and 70 centimeters in just a few minutes.

It has a lot of different radio options available for you to use.

It seems these are all excellent little radios worth less than excellent documentation and menus

if you feel adventurous open Chirp (icon is a db9 connector) and go to top tab "radio" and clik "download" then the tab will ask you to select the radio type once entered it remembers the settings, then plug the cable into the radio ALL the WAY (rubber case will often stop it the last 1/8" wont work) then turn the radio on and it will let you download the initial settings

More expensive than the others but at least it didn't kill my radio

let it up date the driver then plug in the radio, super easy and was programming in ten minutes upload to radio and BAM!!!!

This cable makes the Baofeng UV-82HP radio very easy to use and program, using the chirp app.

I'm not going to say the radio is perfect, but when I plug in my mic it behaves as it should, which suggests that it's not the radio, but rather the cable.

I can finally program my radios on mac or windows using Chirp, well worth the added cost over the imitation cables.
