When the on/off switch for the warmer plate wouldn't turn off one morning recently, we decided that it was time to retire our old friend

I also like that it will keep coffee hot without the burned taste that you get with other coffee makers that has a warmer plate

That is workable but it also has no warming plate to keep the coffee warm after brewing and the thermos does not keep the coffee hot

This one is our favorite by far as the coffee stays hot for hours and there is no burning flavor caused by a hot plate.

No clock, no timer, no "sneak a cup" feature, no hot plate to roast the life right out of the brew, just a solid coffee maker that brews a really good pot of coffee

and I love the thermal carafe, I don't have to worry about leaving the house and forgetting to shut the warming plate off.

I like the fact that there is not hot plate "cooking" my coffee.

I gave it as a gift it does not have a warm plate if I would of known I would not have got it

But, it doesn’t have a timer, a warming plate, options to make one cup, milk steamer, etc

The BUNN Velocity brewer is good at making coffee as fast as the other BUNN coffee makers, but it doesn't have a warming plate because the carafe will keep coffee warm

You do not have to keep a hot plate on to keep the coffee warm.

The coffee wouldn't sit over a hot plate and burn, but it would still be warm.

And personally I don't like coffee that's been continually heated through a warming plate in a glass decanter.

This particular model has an insulated carafe instead of the standard glass carafe that requires a "hot plate" to keep the coffee warm.

It does, but not as well as a carafe with the warming plate

Excellent that I don't have a hot plate with a glass carafe to deal with anymore, so the coffee doesn't get burnt.

With a thermal pot, there is no "warming plate".

There is no hot plate to accidentally leave on, and coffee stays hot and fresh tasting for hours.

I just need to go back to the regular glass carafe and hot plate.

I have had a Bunn with the warmer plate in the past and loved it (it quit working after several years)

Would buy a coffee maker with a hot plate to keep the coffee hot longer next time, but the insulated pot is OK for now

This is a great Bunn.....love the carafe....stays hot for two hours with no warming plate .

The new unit is noticeably lighter, the bottom plate is flimsy and the filter holder is flimsy and not finished in stainless steel like the old one

We tried different filters, including the gold plated reusable filter

Makes coffee super fast and the thermal carafe keeps it warm without the lovely burnt flavor of hot plates

We used to have a typical filter coffee machine with a hot plate under a glass carafe.

The hot plate coffee makers burn the coffee while the carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours without affecting the taste.

The carafe was the selling point for me, it really does keep the coffee hot for a solid couple of hours and there is no burnt taste since it doesn't sit on a hot plate

A great quality product, if you don't want a hot plate.

Like the concept, but the first 3 had carafe warmers, and my wife is not careful about pulling the pot out, while coffee is still brewing, which lets liquid into the warming plate.

no warm up plate to worry about leaving on.no negatives for us.

my last bunn had a warming plate under the crafe and this one takes an extra min or two to brew a pot but is still alot faster than a mr coffee

I switched to this brewer since I am not a big fan of the hot plate on the glass pot version

Whether this is why they failed, or not, this one came with an insulated carafe, and no warming plate- coffes stays drinkable temperature through the full pot of coffee, so warming plate not an issue.

This Bunn is the best so far because it does not have a hot plate on it, With thethermal carafe it keeps the coffee really hot for 2 1/2 hours and hot enough to enjoy for3 to 3 1/2 hours with no old or burnt taste.

As a very forgetful person, the lack of warming plate is actually nice.

Wish it were a 12 cup, but as fast as it makes a pot, no problem.

I was filling the reservoir the night before and shutting the lid at brew time, but found it not as hot as if it's filled with fresh water when you're ready for a pot

It's leaking out the top and doesn't keep the water as hot as it should anymore.

My husband actually burnt himself as it poured all over him.

I've never been able to make coffee as good as with the Bunn with any other coffee maker.

I do however recommend purchasing the plastic pitcher as it is easier when filling the machine.

It comes out very hot, but not as hot as when you use a percolator
