But for a good sized home room, they work like a charm, a great value for the price.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I can only repeat what others have said, they are a terrific value!
I have always looked for the best sounding speakers I can get for the best value
The build quality was on par with a superior system and the value of it all was incredible!
This can be important if one is using an amplifier that isn’t rated for high wattage, or for those looking for really loud levels for movies or music, as well as those sitting farther away from their speakers.
These pointed feet screw into the bottom of the speaker, firmly situating it on the floor which improves bass response and imaging

They produce great imaging and the mids are really nice
Clarity and imaging for each instrument and distinct imaging space for vocals
Excellent stereo imaging, accuracy and tight bass with audiophile quality amplifier
From the first moment that I heard Martin Logan products in my home there was a sense of immense clarity over my previous system (a top end system from a respected vendor).
I enjoyed the R5Bi bookshelf speakers because of all the subtle and refined characteristics they have over the R55Ti towers (top end, a pristine upper midrange and being less colored or more neutral).
The point source KEF Uni-Q drivers provide a smooth and detailed frequency response along with a tight, focused image and the larger 6.5" Uni-Q of the Q300 allows for better low end response then the Q100's 5.25" driver without stepping up to the larger Q700 tower
The R5Bi bookshelf speakers have a more open and clearer top end.
, if you have a cheap amplifier, and bad, if you have spent more than $3,000 on it (update: my HK 7550 was still worth the price with the M12s; end of update)
When I purchased these speakers they were just under $350 and at that price point they are a great deal.
Awesome speakers and at the sale price there asking now, probably one of the best deals in a bookshelf speaker you will ever find
I purchased this set during one of Amazon's Gold Box sales for $499 (I thought that was a great deal until I heard they were selling them at one point for $350)

If your system can handle them, these are one of the best deals going on high end speakers right
The speakers were packaged well and were beautiful to look at with a touch of glossy black
They came well packaged with a nice fitted sock to protect the finish.
The first thing I noticed when they arrived was how well packaged the speakers were.

As you can see above, the tall R55Ti’s hardly overwhelmed the small R5Bi’s.
For nearly three times the price I paid for the M 12, the CM5 offers a more polished sound (although the M12 mid-range can occasionally beat the 2-way CM5), more powerful and more controlled bass, but not the sound stage that you can get from well-designed three-way speakers
ResolutionPretty transparent speakers: the difference is very clearly heard between good and not so good records.c) sound stage / spatial qualities- Accurate placement of instruments - Wide
burnout). The M 12 creates a spacious sound stage extending on the sides beyond the space between the speakers, although the treble/midrange drivers still require a slight toe-in
Customer support from Logan was good, but I have not yet had time to correct as it is a serious DIY job, i.e. requires more than just an allen key!Otherwise pleased
As I am unlikely to spend $3.5k on electrostatic fronts (haha, I don't even have the space for them in my small living room), I am sticking to the M12s, especially because I am convinced ML replaced them with an inferior product at a higher price
I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone at the price off $499
This gives me time to try multiple placement and toe-in scenarios and to check out sonic characteristics, soundstage attributes, and overall sonic appeal of speakers.
Accurate response..nice soundstage and suprisingly good lows.
The R55Ti’s are more sensitive than their R5Bi little brothers, which one would expect with more drivers and larger drivers.
As you can see above, the tall R55Ti’s hardly overwhelmed the small R5Bi’s.
These speakers have the crispest highs and best soundstage of any sub-2500 dollar speakers I have heard
Of course, the inherent weaknesses (directionality, somewhat uncontrolled bass b/o the ported design, and a lack of polished, high treble) remained, but I still believe that the M12 is possibly the best choice for the price
For music and movies I like a little more bass than these can put out alone but crossed over at 70 hz with a good
The Q300 drivers are only a bit larger, at 6.5", but give richer, deeper bass.
Classical orchestral music sounds neutral; the M 12 does not emphasize any notes, although the polished highs and controlled bass of speakers that cost at least twice its price are missing
The highs are the best I have heard and they have quite good bass for a 6.5" speaker.
