While you can certainly buy something more aesthetically pleasing, it would cost a lot more and the functionality of this is great: heats quickly, the whistle works perfectly, it's easy to pour, and very easy to wash.
-
I totally love it, not flimsy, heats very fast, my dog hates the whistle which I didn’t think about 😀!
-
Very durable, heats water fast, and I can brew tea right inside
-
Handle is not 100% heat resistant (like the stainless steel); have to remove the lid in order to pour (very annoying)
-
but the handle gets too hot when heating the water
-
But overall it's been heat resistance (containment) no cracks so far.
-
but then the top cracked off above the metal ring while heating up water
-
Reliable, fast heating, works well on our stovetop without scratching our stovetop surface

Handle gets very hot if heated on surface larger than the kettle
-
Looks like it did not withstand the heat
-
It retains heat well if you keep it on the lowest setting after a boil.

The cons:- can’t turn the heat up to high without heating up the handle.- the lid has to be taken off before pouring, letting out hot steam.- will break/shatter if droppedPotentially dangerous and too cumbersome for a simple teapot
-
Not because the handle gets too hot (though it does), but rather because the plastic whistling cap isn't heat resistant and will melt
-
that can take heat like that, and side note why not make the top out of metal?
-
It does take longer to boil water in this though, directions state to NOT put it on super high heat
-
It works very well, is sturdy, and eventhough I use it on a gas stove, it is very heat resistant.

I like the whistle as a

Takes a while to boil water as you can only use medium heat on smallest burner.
-
The only thing to look out for is to not place your hand over the little hole on the top when it's boiling as it burns!
-
however I would suggest the range grates be free from defects as not to scratch the glass
