Beautifully transparent as a clean boost.. or dial in some gain to push whatever follows it in your chain… sounds fantastic in front of an amp or in front of another dirt box
It's a very good, quiet, transparent OD that has tons of clean boost and sounds good by itself or before / after other distortion boxes
and it can be a clean boost or pretty spot on tube overdrive
With the gain turned down and the volume up you get a very nice clean boost

You could say this is "good for the price" but I also bought an Andoer Trouble TC-16 on Amazon at the same time, for less money than the Pure Sky, and it blew the Pure Sky out of the water
The Pure Sky has a little more gain and more transparent than the Sweet Baby.
10 o'clock-ish on the CTO-1.None of this is to say that the Sky sounds bad at all
But to me the Pure Sky seems to be very much like the Xotic AC Boost

I REALLY like getting sleeper deals, and I stand by my statement that this is a good "gateway pedal" to the Timmy thing
as the pedal is left on over the course of minutes, the gain SLOWLY begins to grow in the direction of increasingly distorted, ill-defined, buzzy fuzzmush without increasing in volume... almost like I'm dealing with a dying battery, except I'm powering this thing off of a standard-issue Dunlop 9v wall wart
all the timeLEDs are super handyHigh current and 18v are awesomeit's a crazy good deal, connector chord is not the best as it is short so you will need an extension chord to plug into itOther than that is is perfectrunning a bunch of stuff of it including some fuzzes and it sounds clean and nice all the timeI will buy more of these, maybe add em to my bigger board
I like the fact that there is a usable E Q to level out your tone

Like the BB Preamp the Orange Burst is a great sounding pedal
If you're looking for more of a modern rock heavy overdriven sound, this pedal isn't really for that
Regardless, I do like the sound of this pedal, and the knobs that I do understand does offer decent control
On single-coil through P90 bridge pickup, it's great for slamming 3-6 note chords for a grainier "just breaking up" sound....not as good at single notes
At full gain, it gives you a very crunchy, fuzzy overdriven tube sound
As you add gain, the tone gets very dirty, very quickly
Gain and volume at 1 o'clock and bass and treble at ten o'clock will get your amp's medium-gain drive tone to Van Halenesque brown sound
It's really mostly good for clean tone use and ambient long trailing
Sadly, this is going back to Amazon because it colors the tone too much and not versatile enough for me.
Transparent overdrive" is one of those musical "terms of art", but it basically means that the pedal is some combination of volume, gain, and dynamic expression while also retaining the essential elements of your clean tone.
I think this pedal sounds pretty decent with amps that have a warmer distortion, like Fenders
So that said, I was so worried this was a gimmick & just a clone of a metal zone (worst distortion ever, tied with HM-3) put in an enclosure to look like the “wampler triple wreck”.ITS NOT
Very good as a boost, overdrive or even stand alone distortion
How to describe its tonal qualities for those curious? - well, lets talk grainy distortion to ultra-smooth overdrive and everything in-between, to give you an idea of the tone:1

I've heard very good things about Caline but this is my first purchase from their line; I'm very impressed!
Ultra thick saturated tones, definitely not a clone (I thought it would be) and that’s a good thing!I’d like to preface this by saying I am a guitarist, pedal aficionado and an audio recording/mastering engineer
I’ve only heard good things about the reliability of Caline pedals maybe I just got a bad one
A bedroom volumes this is an okay dirt pedal, at full band volumes, this thing is incredible!
