Reviews around warfare (4.77 of 5)

  • Where Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare had it's own Basic Training, World at War slaps the player into the boots of a Marine in a hostile environment
  • Modern Warfare was so silly about this that after you've played through it once, you know the spots where you just have to run forward and get to a certain point and let your squadmates do all the killing while you hide
  • Overall it is not as good as Modern Warfare but is stilla good game
  • To me the game is about as good as Modern Warfare (The only other one in this series I've played)
  • Gritty, violent, shocking, and spectacular, the maps in this game beat the entire Modern Warfare series in size, and the campaign environment is as varied as it is immersive

Reviews around graphic (4.62 of 5)

  • but I am more concerned with the game play than with perfect graphics.
  • This game has amazing graphics for being a few years old
  • COD5 is a great game with great graphics, especially with DX10
  • However I think the ridiculous graphics make up for it
  • The graphics are great, and realism is pretty good, but overall this game is downright irritating.1

Reviews around shooter (4.49 of 5)

  • As for the rest of the game, the campaign is a solid WW2 shooter and the multiplayer was fun
  • I recommend this game to anyone that like first person shooter games as well as storylines and historical wars as it is based on World War II.
  • On it's own it's a mediocre, although not entirely bad, arcade style shooter.
  • If you like realistic military-style shooter, especially WW2, this is a must have for you
  • I have Black Ops II and III as well due to the good shooter gaming and map complexity in the first black ops.

Reviews around campaign (4.27 of 5)

  • Campaign: Complete objectives, gather weapons, shoot enemies
  • The campaign is great and the nazi zombies is a lot of fun, but playing online is causing me to lose interest
  • I already knew the Campaign was great, so great job having that
  • The mysterious campaign, the never ending awesome multiplayer, and entertaining Zombies are all great
  • Speaking of stories, the Campaign lacked one

Reviews around price (4.10 of 5)

  • Watching great vids of people playing is fun and all, and the price is good
  • I bought this game on Steam, on sale for $24.99 and I think that was the right price to pay for something that probably won't be much use after I finish the solo-campaign.
  • Which means in order to play the game on multiple computers, you have to keep buying more and more copies of this unreasonably priced game
  • This game stacks up against all of those and is well worth the current cheaper prices on Amazon.
  • So in all fairness, this game really should get the credit it deserves and true fans of first person singleplayer games owe it to themself to atleast give it a look see and the price now makes it feasible...and although it isn't up there with CoD 4 let's say in the Pantheon, it really does stand on its own two legs as a welcome addition to the very enjoyable series.

Reviews around cod4 (4.10 of 5)

  • The maps are excellent and the combat is violent and furious ... weapons choice, game mode, challenges and perks are as good, if not better that CoD4.
  • COD4 was the greatest, The latest cod4 patch made you turn off punkbuster when hosting/playing with same key but still worked

Reviews around play (4.09 of 5)

  • I still miss the old play which doesn't seem to be around anymore
  • IF then you really want excellent game play, MUCH better graphics and action, then get COD4!
  • I really enjoy the era, and I think they've done a fine job of sticking to what worked for CoD4 as far as online play is concerned
  • I would love a more modern setting, yes, but the cooperative play is what sold me on this game and what is here for that feature is awesome.
  • This game is by far one of the best Fps i've played, besides

Reviews around zombie (4.03 of 5)

  • ZOMBIE killing spree
  • Awesome zombie mode, great graphics on pc, and an excellent ww2 experience
  • I love this game shootin zombies and its alot better than Call of Duty 4 modern warfare.
  • However, I do enjoy the cooperitive singleplayer mode and the tottaly unrealistic but fun nazi zombie add on
  • I can finally play online with my friends and kill some custom modded zombies!

Reviews around way (3.66 of 5)

  • , some scenes will blow you away, like during the first mission, at night time and a flare goes up, as the flares back down, the way its light penetrates the jungle foliage and cast moving shadows on a river stream is just outstanding
  • , some scenes will blow you away, like during the first mission, at night time and a flare goes up, as the flares back down, the way its light penetrates the jungle foliage and cast moving shadows on a river stream is just outstanding
  • The weapons are somewhat weak and the maps are awful...way too small.
  • BUT it glitches way to much, i played through the single player but can't go any further than the tank mission because the game just shuts off
  • CO-op are incredibly fun, its a good way to challenge to own zombies and reaching highest level plus CO-op to earn highest score and trying to have fun together

Reviews around weapon (3.59 of 5)

  • I initially bought the special edition of this game which opened up better weapons right off the bat
  • I found the better weapons to be unrealistic and heavily underpowered, I suppose for balance.

Reviews around experience (3.10 of 5)

  • For me, what matters is online cooperative play, bot support for filling out servers when I don't have enough people available to play with, and a relatively crash free experience.
  • I would never order a game from Amazon to download again and would warn all of my lousy experience
  • You won't regret buying this game, incredible graphics, great online experience, a lot of serves running 7/24
  • The true selling point of this game is the amazing multiplayer experience.
  • Probably the worst rip off in gaming software I've ever experienced, as even terrible games usually at least work

Reviews around time (2.28 of 5)

  • I can have a great time on COD4 multiplayer, winning or losing.
  • Kinda of important when you aren't a gamer and have a hard time advancing.
  • I spent more time on forums and doing the various checks proposed by Activision's responsive (though ultimatly unhelpful) support then I would have playing through the campaign.
  • Now I'm playing Left4Dead (and of course still some COD4), and having a grand old time.
  • I didn't have any of the problems installing the game that others mentioned, although sometimes in multiplayer it has a hard time joining a server.

Reviews around game doe (1.76 of 5)

  • While this game does have tanks, the gameplay is rather unrewarding, which is echoed by the general lack of multiplayer servers supporting vehicles

Reviews around ai (1.75 of 5)

  • They can not be killed as they leap over a stack of sandbags
  • The AI is not smart enough to open a can of beans, when they, for instance, do exactly the SAME THING over and over during a scripted event no matter how you change your tactics.
  • I will say that the AI (team members or enemies) are hit or miss sometimes
  • It's as if the AI gets impatient with you for not charging in guns blazing, and decides to occasionally nudge you out of cover and in front of the enemy just to get rid of you
  • Frustrating gameplay due to invisible walls everywhere and horrible AI

Reviews around treyarch (1.38 of 5)

  • Infinity Ward made COD2 and COD4, while Treyarch made the much-maligned COD3
  • Treyarch - were you too cheap to record the REAL historic weapons firing
  • They can not be killed as they leap over a stack of sandbags
  • Treyarch just sucks and Activision needs to have Infinity Ward make all of the COD games.
  • Treyarch murdered this game and it shows both visually, audibly and through its gameplay.
