The red Calloway balls were a gift for a friend who likes the vibrant color.

The yellow balls (my preferred color) have been hard to come by this summer, and Callaway is more expensive than, say, Wilson Duo Soft, but as an average golfer with a swing speed of around 95 mph, they give me better distance than others I've tried.

I was surprised at the distance from the soft feel off my irons

They are soft enough to provide a good feel, but firm enough to travel far.

The dirt sticks to them and since the balls are semi sticky feeling, you can't get the dirt off via fingers and thumb like you can regular balls.

And I've played with some cheap golf balls and these, but the difference is hardly comparable unless you're a pro.

I've personally found that the shock from hitting harder golf balls actually started hurting the wrist upon impact.

and I think they fly further for those with a slow swing speed like myself.

I just turned 80, have a course handicap of 16 from a PGA-approved combination of the two front tees (would be 23 CH from 3rd tee back), and have an inconsistent swing speed of 75-84 mph as recently tested on a TrackMan at a Callaway club fitting

These were recommended to me by my instructor because of my slower club speed and being a beginner

I have a slower swing speed and this ball is perfect to give me distance.

Lately I have been losing a couple of balls per round, but on my 9-hole test of the SuperSoft balls I lost no balls, hit 6 out of 6 fairways and birdied 2 holes (1 birdie is rare for me)
