Reviews around speaker (5.00 of 5)

  • Great clarity and enough punch for my 100db efficient speakers
  • I'm using a Sonos connect feeding lossless files to old Paradigm Atoms that are very nice musical speakers.
  • Limited power means use efficient speakers if you want to play loud.
  • I do think a more efficient speaker would do this amplifier more justice
  • I'm actually driving slightly less efficient speakers at 90db output and its crystal clear

Reviews around soundstage (5.00 of 5)

  • Not sorry I replaced the aging denon as this amp has a nice soundstage and warm musical presentation
  • That old receiver was remarkable sounding... good resolution, smooth, large soundstage, and good overall response.
  • The AM10 sounds nice in this setup, with a decent soundstage and strong bass response

Reviews around rim shoot (5.00 of 5)

  • The Topaz strikes me as being particularly weak on the hiss of brushes on cymbals, sharp dynamic challenges such as a rim shot on a snare drum, and clarity in high vocal notes.

  • Not to knock other reviewers of this or other stereo products, but a properly designed amp should not have a "sound".

  • An as an aside, I can't say enough good things about Paradigm speakers.

Reviews around sound (4.03 of 5)

  • I was looking for a very clean sounding integrated amp with no tone controls, an uncluttered user interface with minimal pointless bling, the ability to plug in my iPod/iPhone, and stone quiet when not in use
  • While not quite a match for the slightly more expensive Marantz integrated amplifier it is reasonably well built, offers a remote and has a polite sound.
  • That old receiver was remarkable sounding... good resolution, smooth, large soundstage, and good overall response.
  • If you want more bass or treble; buy a clean integrated amp with tone controls, not a poorly designed integrated amp that colors and distorts the sound of every recording you play
  • I own several pairs and think that they offer unquestionably excellent sound for the money.

Reviews around topaz (3.61 of 5)

  • the Topaz Integrated Amp seems less up to the task than ancient Yahama CR-620 receiver, which the Topaz replaced.
  • The power of the Topaz Integrated Amp seems barely adequate to drive a pair of KEF Corelli bookshelf speakers in my 14' x 15' living room.
  • The remote is designed to work with the Topaz Integrated Amp and the Cambridge CD player.
  • The Topaz strikes me as being particularly weak on the hiss of brushes on cymbals, sharp dynamic challenges such as a rim shot on a snare drum, and clarity in high vocal notes.
