Only a blurry peek or partial video, saying if we wanted to see the entire video we had to get a membership

Fairly good quality video and device is sturdy.

, now the videos last 30 seconds and you cannot forward the video so you can keep the video, since videos are erased after a day

I did not purchase Canary to keep cute videos of children and pets, carry on two-way conversations etc.

The wide angle lens gives a great view of my room with great video quality during both day and night.

Easier video deletion would be great...because you'll need to do a lot of it if you live in an area with movement in front of your house when you're gone

When first purchased, they gave free video for 12 hours; now you have to buy expensive membership to view any video or even to have camera change between day and night recording modes

first they gave you free 24hr video backup, then they drop to 12hr, now they remove Night mode

when you then have to worry about them changing the very features of the device that lead you to purchase it in the first place?So let my shoddy purchase be a warning to you, i'm currently at a loss for my peace of mind, a few hundred dollars, and canary won't even honor a refund or return of the product when the sole reason i purchased it is because they advertised, at the very minimum, free video recording available without a monthly subscription fee always

Prior to these changes I could log in to my Canary and watch live video, as well as recorded videos within a 7 or 30 day time gram (I apologize I do not remember which)

It had Night Mode which turned the device on at a specified time (bedtime) and recorded any activity after that point, it had seven days of cloud storage and video was recorded until movement was no longer detected

The processing in the Canary really brightens up the video well.

I would say that Piper NV had some features that were better, such as battery backup and loud sound detect/alert... but Canary had much better video quality

As of last month, Canary has stopped providing the free video of the few occasions it actually records

so I had low expectations for that particular feature but figured I could at least get a couple of critical videos downloaded if needed

Excellent video, looks like an air freshener container, super loud siren and great viewing on cell phone.

Basically you get about 10 seconds of useless video now unless you buy the expanded plan and no downloads
