Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

    • The build quality is excellent
    • Like other "L" lenses, the build quality is top-notch and wouldn't hesitate to bring this on all of my travels
    • Excellent quality
    • To start off, this lens deserves 5 stars on outstanding picture quality alone
    • Optical quality is outstanding.
    • The quality is excellent, i saved quite a lot of money without loosing on any quality.
    • This is due in part to the excellent build quality (and weather sealing) and also in part to the inclusion of Image stabilization
    • lense). For quality, it really significant & invaluable to have the IS on a macro lense
    • The build quality & its "look&feel" is good enough for a L-series lense
    • Love the full function ability and great quality.
    • This lens is the usual great quality from Canon
    • The build quality is excellent and consistent with an L lens
    • First off, at under a thousand bananas, you get unbelievable L-quality images and really nice build as well
    • Great construction, fast and accurate focus, great image quality
    • Very good quality optics.
    • the quality is outstanding
    • This is a true, blue-looded L lens, super sharp, superb color quality and clarity; images jump out-- wow!
    • Quite honestly, my other other Canon lenses (NOT kit lenses) give exceptional quality, even up to large blow-ups.
    • First off, at under a thousand bananas, you get unbelievable L-quality images and really nice build as well
    • The image quality is superb and the build quality is also very nice.
    • The quality of the lens is excellent, i have made some pictures of the first page of the newspaper with different lenses and comparing the combo with the Panasonic Lumix GH1 14 - 140mm lens
    • I am using it on a 60D.Picture quality: Amazing
    • But IMHO, it's well worth it, not just because of its fantastic quality, but also because these lenses don't really seem to lose their value
    • Great photo quality.
    • I have taken several pics of my kids and the quality is amazing, they just stand out so strong and sharp against the soft background.
    • This my 3rd Canon L-lense and the quality of all three is excellent
    • When used correctly it produces superb image quality
    • The quality of pics is that much superior to the kit lens (18-55mm
    • The build quality of both are excellent, though the "L" has better sealing from the elements.
    • (The second lens is every bit as sharp and high quality as the first.)
    • and I feel confident that in most cases I am capturing top quality images
    • Great lens and the attribute of picture quality most important to me is excellent
    • The lens has great quality and the image quality is even better
    • The build quality is VERY good, considering canon uses a high grade plastic on the body of this L lens.
    • The outside appears to be made of plastic but you can tell it is high quality worthy of an L lens.
    • The quality is amazing
    • Such beautiful quality and versatility
    • The build quality is worthy of an "L" lens.
    • The built quality is excellent, the image quality is outstanding
    • No more squatting for 2 hours only to get a few good quality pics
    • Great picture quality, well build, fast.
    • The camera has poor image quality, so I returned the lens becausewithout the 7DMKII, I don't have another Canon body
    • Over-view: good quality multi-purpose lense at a reasonable price
    • Of all these, the lens I reach for most is the 100mm 2.8L. Its light, so I can carry it for long periods of time, its nicely sharp, arguably as
    • Now, they will likely not be as sharp as if they were on a tripod, but they will still be usable and this is a huge difference; you will be able to spontaneously capture things you would have missed before while setting up your tripod
    • A relatively slow shutter speed to capture the scene in front of me usually meant I'd have to compensate by ratcheting up the ISO or go wider with the aperture, which are not always or often good compromises, for image quality reasons as well as for reasons of creative choice.
    • It is a high-grade plastic and I think Canon decided to switch materials to reduce the weight of the lens, which I prefer as it gives good balance on my 5D mark I with battery grip.
    • You can use it as a medium telephoto, as well as, of course, for macro work.
    • It brings everything into focus, making my photography look as sharp as it can be.
    • Probably not as durable as some "L" lenses, but every bit as weather resistant and a lot lighter.
    • I had the non L and this blows that out of the water!
    • ]Compared to a "normal" L lens like the 200mm L:[
    • It is expensive yes, but as with all L glasses, worth every single penny
    • Don’t waste you $ on slow, fuzzyish lenses, save up and invest in good L glass from Canon.
    • But the new 100mm macro L is very much worth the upgrade, and the IS is a welcome addition to Canon's most popular macro option.
    • First off, at under a thousand bananas, you get unbelievable L-quality images and really nice build as well
    • One of the best L series lenses.
    • First off, at under a thousand bananas, you get unbelievable L-quality images and really nice build as well
    • The lens is made of a newer plastic barrel, but it is far from the cheaper non L variety
    • (The standard insider joke is that the 'L' stands for 'Expensive as L')2
    • Much better even than some of my other "L" lenses and well worth the upgrade from the non-IS version
    • It is probably one of the cheapest L lenses in the Canon L series
    • This lens is the best "L" lens you can buy for the money because of the following reasons:1
    • Fantastically sharp and fun to play with! This is my first "L" lens and definitely worth the price to treat myself
    • One of the least expensive L lenses, it doubles as an amazing macro as well as a really great portrait lens.
    • I don't find myself using the full setting at all, I switch between the two modes depending on what I need and the focusing is as fast as my other L lenses.
    • Anyways, if you want a comparatively cheap L lens that you can use for shooting portraits, street shots, and other type of shots, you will find this baby more than capable.
    • It feels every bit as rough as my other all metal L lenses.
    • One of my favorite L lenses
    • Sharpness is incredible, almost as sharp as my 50mm 1.2 L model
    • I don't have a really fast L lens, but that is probably coming next
    • The optical stabiliser works brilliantly, and was the reason I purchased the 'L' version of this lens instead of its much cheaper non-'L' counterpart
    • Otherwise, for studio work on tripod, the non L will be perfect and you can spend the extra money on other things (like food).
    • The lens is fairly light, but does not feel as solid as most other L lenses.
