Interestingly, it also takes quite nice close-up shots (see images I'm posting with this review)
-
This lens takes amazing shots
-
A cool secret feature is this thing takes some pretty good macro shots
-
Slim, lightweight and some great shots
-
I was able to get some pretty great shots in various types of lighting, I cant wait to get this out to an event and snap some photos.
-
With it being a tad wider than 50mm, you can find yourself getting really creative with your composition and shots, it so versatile
-
Though it is a prime lens and I'd have to use my legs as my zoom, it can take decent wide angle shots and if you get close enough, it can take some near-macro shots as well.
-
2.8 aperture lets me stop down to get great shots in low light, too.
-
The only problem is, I find that photos between f4-f2.8 are very distorted, otherwise it takes great shots.
-
When I want to carry my camera around and be able to take great shots in any situation, but don't want to carry other lenses, this is my go to
-
I get crisp shots with a decent amount of bokeh when wanted.
-
but I got some great shots of my baby girl this Christmas with this lens!
-
If you want a great walk around lens that has outstanding optics and is tack sharp buy this lens, if you want realistic close up shots and beautiful color fidelity buy this lens
-
We have used the lens for quite a few indoor group shots, to capture images of rooms and indoor areas, as well as a few landscape and outdoor shots
-
I took it out when I went sailing with friends on a small boat and was able to get great shots of the scenery and my friends while sitting just across from them
-
It performs great a s a walk around lens as well, though you dont have a zoom range like on a traditional walk around lens it gives great wide angle shots as well as close ups second to none
